#1 - INTRODUCTIONHello everyone, its been a very long time since my last DIY here around 2008... now i'm back with my new simple and low budget DIY.. Some of my previous projects: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my current HTPC: Intel D525MW Atom Dual-Core Mobo + Proc 2GB DDR2 320GB 2.5" HDD MiniTec ITX Casing This post has been edited by omara86: Sep 12 2012, 03:04 PM

2# - MODIFICATION PLANI wanna make a simpler and smaller case for my purpose bcoz current casing only look cool, but hogging the space, so this project is using the same mobo and PSU, but diff HDD bcoz i need a larger storage and changing to 3.5" HDD... this is how it will roughly gonna be.. and this is the idea for the basic frame, using 1/2" and 1" aluminium L bar.. as for the outer skin, i'm going to use acrylic sheet with white or black paint from the inside, wanna use glossy effect on it.. 3# - WORK PROGRESS: MOTHERBOARD TRAYSacrificing my cheapo ATX casing, i will chop it of and use the tray and cut it into ITX size... E-view cheap casing My grinder, i cant find the proper cutting disc so juz use this one, dunno where my dad put it... Only the tray and back plate left, frame removed.. Job's done.. Is it even tought enuf to cut? grinding surface using the sidewall, cutting using the edge... tought enuf? u can cut anything with this, stronger than jigsaw summore... dun compare to dremel, this 1 is more powerful.. "angle grinder" is for cutting, grinding and polishing... This post has been edited by omara86: Sep 12 2012, 07:34 AM

4# - CHANGES IN DESIGN AND LAYOUTTo me, the previous design wasn't compact enuf, still got space for improvement.. So after few attempt, measuring and stacking, this is the final layout i'm going to do... The diff from previous design is: - extra 2cm in width - same length - less 3 cm in height Normal size ATX PSU is for size comparison... -------------------------------------------------------- Thx for reading...
