QUOTE(Hansel @ Dec 30 2015, 10:02 AM) How about a US counter with 15% withholding tax ? Is this acceptable, especially if it pays monthly ? The brokerage fee is high for US stocks? Anyone familiar with US stocks? Can share also abt the US reits for our additional knowlegde.

QUOTE(Hansel @ Dec 30 2015, 11:49 AM) You must select a brokerage which has discounted brokerage fees. Anyway, if you are earning consistent dividends, you'd be able to offset the brokerage fees later-on. So,... no issue on that end. Hansel, have u invested in US reits? Or still browsing? There were plenty of US reits. Any that you think giving good div ^.^

QUOTE(Hansel @ Dec 30 2015, 06:35 PM) Hi prince,... it's going to be a long story, don't know if this thread is the right vehicle for this discussion. Yu too must find a way to open an account in the US for you to invest for dvidend profitably. Otherwise, the charges, custodian fees, fees against dividends received and wiotholding taxes will just make your investments not worth it. Long story,...... Oic...so many charges and fees incurred. Hmmm will consider it later and discuss in the US thread. At the moment I will focus on Sg Reits. Thanks Hansel.

Suntec dropped alot...would you see as an opportunity? "Fundamentally the distribution yield of 5.17% gives me no excitement. There are other Singapore REIT can offer higher distribution yield than Suntec REIT. WALE are not so attractive because there are 25% lease will be expiring in 2016. There is no guarantee that the rental can be renewed at higher rate due to the weakness in global economy. Technically Suntec REIT is on down trend although finding a temporary support at $1.74 (take note that a Double Bottoms is formed, a potential reversal pattern). As an investment rule: NEVER buy when the stock is on down trend." This post has been edited by prince_mk: Jan 3 2016, 02:47 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 3 2016, 04:03 PM) i had bought and sold suntec a few times, been good to me. last round, bought at 147-148. 1.74? that would be nice, i will sell then! I m a newbie... Usually u all keep how much of units? 10000 units? Just anxious if i keep buying.. So far, my portfolio are : Soilbuilderbiz 2000 Keppel Reits 2000 Croesus 1000 Cache Log 1000 Queuing for Suntec 1000 today. Hmmm...wonder should i put more in UT? But lately some of my UT were bloodg red. Thinking of Reits will give be a consistent passive income. Hence i switched slowly to Reits. Oppss Singapore Reits to be exact.

But sometimes when i see the price is very low in 1 year or 3 yr horizon, i tend to take opportunity to topup.
Anyway it also depends on its property portfolio as well. I would see some prospect there. Hence i grab some as my portfolio.
I guess better than reits. Less volatile too.
Thanks bro Avfan.

SINGAPORE: SGX broke its mainboard IPO duck this year, welcoming BHG Retail REIT as its first and likely only mainboard listing in 2015 on Friday (Dec 11).
BHG Retail REIT has five retail properties, with another 12 in the pipeline, all located in China. It is the first REIT backed by a Chinese-based group to be listed in Singapore.
BHG Retail REIT's five retail properties are in key cities Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Hefei and Xining.
