Yeah. Depends on your goals of investing. Some people like the yanks are happy with 4% yields.
But for me, anything less than 7% net is difficult to invest in especially with forex risks as well.

If your dividends are compressed beyond your targets, why not take some profit off the table?

You are not objective enough.
Reits are not for trading IMO. WE buy Reits for yield income. If our yield is highly compressed and the short term Capital gains will pay for say, 3 years or more of yield, why not take some profits?

The market may crash tomorrow and you have a cash chest to buy low. Cash holding is NOT wrong
