Hi everyone,i am using Alpine SPG-17cs component 2-way speaker(280w peak, 70w RMS) now for my front and pionneer TS-A6963E for my rear(300w 6x9) and one 4 channel 700w kenwood amp which i dunnoe what is the model. and one 12" pionner subwoofer(my fren bought for me as my present).The problem is the sound the come out from rear speaker is louder than the front and i felt that the sound of my front component set is not coming out..it seem like cover by the rear sound.So, i dunnoe what to do.i have asked two different workshop, one is asking me to add one more amp for the woofer so that the 4 channel amp can used to seperate the front and rear speaker and they can higher the voice of front and lower the rear voice. And the other workshop is asking me to change HU as the stock HU doest not have "what RCA input so that the sound of front is not coming out" and change rear speaker not to use 6x9.
I am a newbie..so i hope all sifusss can give me some advice.thx you

ditch the 6x9...

problem solved by gain tuning...

you see your problem is a classic mistake... the sub woofer was set to a higher gain, and its sharing the same output with the rear 6x9... hereby called the rear group.

the front is on its independent gain setting, i assume lower, because the tweeter would either sound harsh/piercing or distorted when the setting is set to higher than the rear group.

so when a parallel output level(HU output) is sent to the amp, it amplifies it accordingly, less gain on the fronts, its less sensitive to the volume changes. more gain on the rear, its more sensitive to volume changes.

this is when you problem starts, you wan to listen to the front sing, turn up the volume, common sense. but the rear volume increases faster than the front, thus giving they sound louder, they cover the front, period.

so ditch the rear 6x9, 4 ch amp, 2ch to the front, bridge 2ch to the rear sub. tune the gain accordingly to your taste, problem solved.

yes bro, i tried to lower the rear sound but it just lower the woofer voice. i think the workshop help me to set 2ch for front and 2 ch for rear woofer. so when i use the fader function.is just affect the woofer sound but not the rear speaker.before my fren bought me the woofer i did can lower the rear speaker sound by using fader function but after i install it...it link to the rear woofer but not the rear speaker.

option B:

1---use the 4channel amp for front speaker & sub
2----connect these amp to HU front output----need to use rca y-spliter
3--use amp gain control to balance front speaker/sub
4----connect 6x9 to HU rear output----use HU power
5---play with fader function

definition of ditch:

informal get rid of or give up:
plans for the road were ditched following a public inquiry
end a relationship with (someone) peremptorily:
she ditched her husband to marry the window cleaner
North American play truant from (school):
maybe she could ditch school and run away

Let me see if I can help a bit; So the story so far ;

Speaker ; Front Component L+R, Rear 6x9 L+R and Subwoofer.. want to able to control all.
HU ; Stock that support Front L+R and Rear L+R, no support for Subwoofer and No RCA.
Amp ; 4 channel... think now connect to Subwoofer from HU Rear and HU Front connect to Speaker (believe both Component & 6x9)
Fader Function - Rear Subwoofer only, Front all 4 speaker.... (Correct me if wrong)

Alternative ;

1) Change HU that can control everything saparate and with RCA... Saparate for Front, Rear and Subwoofer... something like this... Connect Front RCA to 4chAmp to Speaker, Subwoofer RCA to 4chAmp to Subwoofer and Rear 6x9 connect to HU direct powering.

Attached Image

2) Get another 2 channel Amp. Stock HU Front to 4 ChAmp to Component, Stock HU Rear to 4chAmp to 6x9 and Split the Stock HU Front (With Splitter) to 2chAmp to Subwoofer. As the Stock HU no RCA, then need to get HiLo Converter that can work with Splitter.

3) Get a processor... everything go through the Processor. This way not cheap as maybe need active crossover.. hahaha...

700 to 800 budget just on HU? You have a wide selection of models.

Pioneer 9450 and 9350 is within your range plus they come with 3 outputs. Front rear and sub. You can also fine tune your eq to suit your listening.

4ch amp to power the front speakers and sub. The 6x9 powered by the HU. Then you can play with fader as well as change the volume of front, rear and sub at the same time.

No worries bro, your choice is good too as you had enough for adding in an extra amplifier just for the subs. Good choice smile.gif
