I delivered in Pantai Cheras July this year. Was with Dr Edmund Lai but when the day came, he was in Bangkok for a conference so I ended up with Dr Ee which is a visiting gynae (also Dr Edmund's partner). Dr Ee is not bad.. quite gentle but he kinda generalize the situation by saying that first time labor is usually very slow which I don't really agree as I delivered in about 5 hours after admission.

I chosed the single room 3d/2n. Mine was normal deliver + vacuum + baby charges = Rm 4200.

Room is very big with sofa big enough to accomodate hubby teman me overnight. Overall experience is good and if I were to deliver again I'd choose this hospital again.

Hi, I gave birth in Pantai Cheras in january this year.
My gynae is not from Pantai Cheras itself, but i prefer to give birth in Pantai Cheras (cause im more familiar with this hospital tongue.gif) so he has became the visiting doc.
Basically, I just admitted to PC one day before my c-sec, then 2nd day straight away operation in the early morning.

I was staying thr for 4 nights in a single room.
total cost is around 10 k for everything.

I was told by my friend her normal delivery with Dr Chow is RM5k++ include 1 night stay at single room (RM230++) (admitted at night)

Last check up I ask about his fees he said normal delivery 4-5k, C section 7-8k. Since my EDD is so near to CNY so I ask will there be any extra chargers so he said YES. Any admission after working hours have extra charges.

I was told by the nurse everything included in d hospital stay; food, pads, baby diapers, baby bottles? etc.. she just ask me bring a set of clothes for me and baby for use during check out. so meaning I dont need to bring anything to hospital? Or I still need to prepare some stuff? Like what? Will there be any more "extra charges" for all those amenities?

Hi, I had my delivery in Pantai Cheras last october and to be honest,i could not be any happier with my doctor.Dr.Tan KK was my Obstetrician and i had my monthly checks there.I had opt for normal delivery but due to my baby's size, i had to be taken for emergency C-section.The kind of stitching he made, allowed me to walk immediately the next day and i hardly felt much pain after the operation.Within a week i was walking normal.I dont know how far it helped others but I am a medicl professional as well and as a personal experience, I would say he is one the best i have seen.He is very frank and explains everything in detail. But please be wise when you chose your pediatrician.Mine was not as pleasing.

Update 25/5/2015

Dr Chow have helped me delivered 2 babies! ^^ I would say, he is a professional

My honest opinion on Dr Chow:

Strict... or I would say old fashioned. No cold drinks during pregnancy period. No sex (hubby ask sleep.gif"). Cannot color your hair. Cannot have manicure or pedicure (He'll nag if he sees it >.<)

Prefers to be safe. which is good lar... But for my first baby, I wanted an early induce cos I wanted a dragon baby >P and had been pestering him. He didnt want me to be induced. Until I showed up at his clinic with my bag of stuffs 1 morning and he finally gave in. He rescheduled me to next morning(where I must arrive at 7am to the hospital)
And during labour, cos its my first baby, and I probably couldnt push harder, he quickly instruct baby to be vacummed out. (2nd baby I push baby out myself ok. hahaha:P)

He is gentle.. On the stiching part.. nod.gif no pain (as he injects painkiller)

He is ok if you insist on breastfeeding. But in his opinion if you are worried baby is too hungry, can give formula (not every mummy have milk straight away after labour). If you choose formula or mix feed he even give some milk formula for you.. lol (first baby I mix so he gave me formula, 2nd baby I insist to bf so he didnt give.. lol)

Ok on pricing,

First baby his doctor fee was RM1800. Hospital fee RM1657.91 include single room charges for 1 night... I have painkilling injection, which made me very sleepy, and oxygen later, no epidural^^. Administered inducing medications(2 packs if not mistaken) Its a saturday and baby delivered after 12pm with vacumming method.

2nd baby doctor fee RM1500. Hospital fee RM1747.45 include single room charges for 1 night (No injection, no oxygen, no epidural. Inducing medication 1 pack (cos my contractions is far between) and delivery happened on a weekday. thumbup.gif

So I wasn't sure if my friend said RM5000 for delivery is real or not lar.. maybe she stayed in for 2-3 nights and administered at night?

There are other doctors there that is cheaper, which provide "delivery packages" and cost around RM2000+ but since I'm with Dr Chow and he have my records I go to him instead.

-end-

Enough babies for me biggrin.gif but my sister in law is seeing him now for her 2nd pregnancy also.. Per checkup is RM140! He normally increase RM10 per year but this year increase twice due to gst shakehead.gif she thinking want to switch to another hospital or not.. As she is opting for c-sec and it'll cost 7-8k shocking.gif

My first baby check up was RM90(2012), 2nd baby RM100(2014)...
