Im not too sure but the estima i drove also same. i believe its not a big problem though
Most of the time, it's not a big problem but imagine you want to do a fast 3 point turn and the engine cuts off while doing so....

and for an auto car to act this way... am just finding it weird.

nope, just spray antirust....in my opinion, bottom of car, even paint, no one would notice also....

when i go to EON service, the mechanic holding pieces of paper, those are buletin, dikeluarkan oleh (suddenly duno the english word for this) Edar and populate to them.
thanks for the info, Arthur.

i will ask the SA at COSE about this bulletin when i see them this Thurs.

That's the famous OWV problem bro. Go have it checked at SC.
*
Dhuang or anyone without the OWV problem,
can you make a short video of your car cranking?

i think mine sounded like Rufez's from time to time and it never crosses my mind it's the OWV problem...

i TEND TO AGREE WITH WHAT BRO gIGABit said here.. If no oil leak that thing is better be left untouched. Just try the new start up sequence. I've been doing that for months & mine is ok just fine.

Besides, Rufez's over-crank is so much less compared to our very own rich8833 here..

Kongyw, I can but now don't have any friends nearby to start the car while I'm filming the engine.. sweat.gif
*
I cant really tell listening to Rufez's but Rich and 37867 are really obvious. Now I don't know if I have it or not until I can listen and compare to one which is OWV free.

Engine stall/cut off when engaging into "R" and the once in a blue moon where the odometer when up and down erratically almost to the point of stalling when the car is stationary are the 2 main issues I would like to see an end to.

I know some of you would say those are not major issues... I just prefer not to have those niggling feelings at the back of my mind that my car will go into those "mood" unexpectedly. And that I have to shrug my shoulders when it happened in front of my family, friends and even strangers.... I am telling my colleagues it's a great car, the joy of driving it etc. but when it come to questions like "any issues?".....

Guys,
I know we don't use it because of our weather but has anyone set the air cond temperature to above 26 and yet the air is not warm/hot?

I set mine to 30 as that is what is comfortable for me. 25 and below I feel it is too cold. I think is different for each individual on what is a comfortable temperature
*
Well what I meant was that normally anything above 26 is considered above room temperature... so if set to 30, the air ought to be warm...

don't forget to ask them to look after rust part near the exhaust
*
thanks for the reminder.
it was already in my 'wish list' when attended by the SA.
he told me they will treat all the exhaust holders from the tail pipe to the engine.
as some have pointed out before, the new layout of the reception area is so much better than before. now you see and find all the SAs in one area.

just an update on what had happened,
-Rusty tail pipe holder > done

-central air cond blower making rattling noise when speed set between mid and max > no more

-occasional engine stall when engaged "R", the mechanic refreshed the ECU > done but problem is still there. it actually stalled right before the SA's eyes when we tested it after the refreshed. told me to monitor it a few more days but it happened again when i reached home. LOL this is not going anywhere...

-didn't get to replace the driver's seat because we were out of time. replacement needs to be carried out at nearby proton vendor

so, have to make another appointment...

Did they re-paint the holder or just apply antirust only?

surprised that they cannot solve the engine stall problem..are there actually any technical expert in proton?

what happen to your seat?  noisy, hairy or faded?

Is like that one la..everytime have to go back, go back ..they will or cannot settle all at one go..still don't understand..

if in mat salleh country, already kena tembak mati already..
*
from the look of it, they removed the rust and recoated the holder with a silver colour coat. looks like brand "new".

at first the SA said it could be due to ocv but dont know why they did not replace it but reflashed the ECU instead.

as for the seat, the lower support of the backrest is noisy when pressed hard against it. like squeaky spring.

once the above 2 are resolved, i think i am basically done with the major complains. then will be moving on to better soundproof the car.

dhuang,

mine is not chipped rim but more like slight bengkok at the lip, about 2" wide after driving over a brick or rock. the tyre needs to be replaced as well sad.gif

might give them a call anyhow.

from what i observe, not much difference on both aspect.
for the engine adaptation, after applying it, the first time EVER i got mati engine when shifting D to R when making 3-point turn...more responsive as the rpm more lower to move the car...
another thing, everytime i aaply engine adaptation, seems like it will become like i 1st time take car from show room, full tank only manage to get 350-400km....previous i apply engine adaptation also same....but after few refuel, the FC slowly improves...
*
Arthur,
did your car engine mati before the engine adaptation? i wonder if the engine adaptation you were referring to is the same as ECU refreshed?

Just washed my car and realised there are a few small spots which have chipped of paint, probably from the stones flying off 2 lories that day while I was driving. Damn sakit hati la, anyone know where I can go and repair those chipped parts? Can our own proton service center do it?

Am thinking of sending my car for a Permanon detailing session. Anyone has experience with it? Price is RM350 inclusive of wash, and basic claying etc etc. Just wondering whether I should just go with those groupon car wash+polish rather than paying such a premium.

you might want to do you own touch up.

Perhaps, you can stick some papers on your car windows and take photo and post to Facebook and send to news paper company. That may work. smile.gif
Have you try other SC? I believe you will find a good and reliable SC... Although must of them are !@#$@#$@#!$....

though i may be frustrated and disappointed, i still prefer the non confrontational method...

Today received SMS from Cose and said my left mirror part arrived. So, got to apply leave again. I think one year I need to apply 10 days leave just to go to Cose.
