today while winding down the driver window to take parking ticket, noted some krak krak sound when the window is coming down.. tried a few times after that sound still there and it only starts when the window is halfway down.. anybody faced something like this before?

and another issue is I've set my HU brightness to auto, so whenever I on my car lights the HU backlight will dim off but occasionally it'll light up & go dim again. This happens randomly almost on a daily basis..

Yes, had this. They replaced my regulator. Please highlight this during whenever you drop by the service center.

Check if it is really 'random' or it occurs whenever your A/C kicks in. If when A/C kicks in, then its a common problem. Many Preve owners already complain. You'll get the "A/C compressor very powerful..." crap from SC sad.gif
*
Nope. the a/c has been on for quite a while.

Just washed my car and realised there are a few small spots which have chipped of paint, probably from the stones flying off 2 lories that day while I was driving. Damn sakit hati la, anyone know where I can go and repair those chipped parts? Can our own proton service center do it?

Am thinking of sending my car for a Permanon detailing session. Anyone has experience with it? Price is RM350 inclusive of wash, and basic claying etc etc. Just wondering whether I should just go with those groupon car wash+polish rather than paying such a premium.

For complete repair, u will need to to respray the whole body part which has stone chipped. A small touchup with paint won't give u glossy and smooth finish.

Doing permanon detailing with stone chip on the car?  hmm.gif
*
Not detailing the stone chip part. Detailing the whole car. Respraying the whole body part is a no brainer, the chip part is at the bonnet & bumper area.

Those alternator booster or other booster works by feeding high loads of current in order for the device to produce higher power output. Those could accelerate the wear and tear of parts involved in the process.

spark plug lifespan stays by default.

My case, bank loan process took about a week. I pass my info & within a few days, bank call up already. "Unfortunately", I got my car in 2 weeks cry.gif
Don't worry, once get your car, send for SierraGlow brows.gif Regret never do for my car sad.gif
Used to be in Seremban but now in Shah Alam already sad.gif I still travel to Malacca frequently though smile.gif

For service, the CoE in Senawang is quite systematic. Just make sure you follow up very frequently on any issues you might have. They "ular" with cases they are not sure of some time.

wave.gif Can join? tongue.gif

Sure man. Of course u're welcome to join. In fact there are quite a lot of Preves around sban town. I see at least 2-3 while driving to work.

Rather than sierra glow which cost RM750, I would recommend Permanon to u guys, it cost RM350 if done at the car detailing center, if u're a DIY guy, it'll only cost u RM150. I did mine at Waxson in SunwayMas commercial center, no regrets. Car is still as shiny as day 1, regretted not going there right after I got my car. No matter how dirty my car is, a simple car wash will restore it's glow.

I just called the senawang branch to book an appt but was told by the SA that the next service is suspposed to be at 10k but not 5k. I told her I serviced at another branch for my 1k with semi syn oil but she said that's ok cos memang proton asked to service at 10k and se mentioned that the free service is for 1k, 10k and 20k. anybody mind confirming?

Optimum opti coat would be nice if it was cheaper by RM200. Current selling price is RM300 shocking.gif and it is only 200ml in quantity.
*
was told by the seller here that he doesnt sell opticoat for DIY cause u need a pro to handle it.

hmm, so wash car with the hecta PL, then just spray and wipe whole car? car still new should be ok gua hehe.. the DIY set only use for once?
*

Of course not. The permanon can do 3 times if u're using it on preve only. and u only need to coat again after about 3-6 months so I reckon a set will last u for abt 1-11/2 year. Each time u use the hecta pl shampoo it has a lil of the permanon ingredient that will reinforce the current layer. I'm not a seller for permanon but I find it easy and cheap if compared to the other brands.

my opi, opti coat is not for end users.. u need to prepare the paint.. surely u need the rotary to make it shiny as glass.. then only u could apply an opti coat on top of it.. if u do it without preparing the paint, the defect could not be repaired anymore.. the opti coat will sealed of the paint surface.. u might need to do more in order to correct the paint, and opti coat it again.. not easy yooo.. not easy...
*
ditto. that's what i've been trying to explain. it cost abt 1k++ the last I enquired.

Where's everyone? So quiet these 2 days.

By the way I remember someone said shouldn't install the K&N filter. What about Redline drop in filter? Anyone using it and what's the improvment after using it?

Just got the firestorm from V12kompressor today..

So far haven't really noticed the differences yet. Maybe will need a while more to take note.

While putting in the firestorm, a fused dropped into the engine bay, both he and me tried to find back that piece of fuse but just can't seem to find it, was a bit dark as car was parked in a basement. No rattling sound so far, hopefully it fell off somewhere while driving.

@arthur88

What's the difference that u can feel?

I still can't comment on the FC yet but driving wise I don't really feel much difference as mentioned by the other ppl as in improved acceleration and etc.
