QUOTE(goldfries @ Sep 12 2012, 11:39 AM) Yes. It is basically the same engine but different IAFM component and different camshaft. Other parts such as pistons may be different as well but I can't confirm that. Suffice to say ECU is also tuned differently |

QUOTE(mrchinot @ Sep 12 2012, 12:05 PM) yup... and the iafm / iafm+ module is just an add-on onto the existing campro engine... unlike CPS, it involve minor mod on engine and the ECU... (based on the info from wiki)... CPS got different engine head already, summore instead of an IAFM, it has a VIM. Not just a minor mod |

QUOTE(mat79 @ Sep 12 2012, 01:54 PM) as far ive been informed, iafm+ is actually a derivation from cfe, while retaining original campro cubic capacity. While cfe has cvvt component n discard iafm coz using fix resonance plus turbo, iafm+ just a cfe without turbo n cvvt while retaining iafm unit. YB mat79, rumours has it that the new Persona Standard uses the IAFM+ engine, any truth to that?Iafm unit still the same, but material used a bit diff(thats why some wear n tear part schedule same as cfe except for plugs n air filter). Besides, previous iafm using 16 bit ems 700 ecu load based ecu while iafm+ using 32 bit easy ecu torque based n of coz calibration is totally different. And for drive terrain, prev iafm mated with mitsu 4at trans while iafm+ using punch cvt unit n powerloss on trans will be diff coz 4at using torque con while cvt using clutch which giving direct link to the wheel almost like manual. Less is more, that is what iafm+ compare to iafm, even with reduce hp(but achieve it at lower rpm), but if compare to the loss of trans, it still gives more than iafm 4 at unit. Of course driving uphill full load will have effect even cvt coz even for turbo charged, u can still feel the diff compare to drive on flat road. But if using prev iafm on preve, it will cause severely undertorque n power compare to iafm+. Bye. |

QUOTE(arthur88 @ Sep 13 2012, 01:17 PM) Its a scanner that reads sensor inputs from your ECU....you can see other sensor readings that is not available on your SID such as fuel rate, throttle position, intake tamp, catcon temp etc. etc.Useful for monitoring engine operation condition and health. |

QUOTE(sanadi @ Sep 14 2012, 07:03 PM) Look at the upper right, it says "Confidential". Why don't car makers in Malaysia follow the practice in the USA? All TSB (Techical Service Buletin) are for public viewing and can be download from the internet. Why the secrecy? If you are worried about intellectual property copyright the document and patent your work. That is the proper way to protect your IP. I find no justification to make such TSBs "confidential". I dint even notice the CONFIDENTIAL wording there lolz It was stuck on a bulletin board on the wall of the service area in a authorized Proton SC. Probably not meant to be seen by customers, but they allow customers to wander around in the service area anyway This post has been edited by dares: Sep 14 2012, 07:15 PM |

QUOTE(Saya_Dhuang @ Sep 16 2012, 01:23 AM) Where's this place Dares? Seldom sees Proton SC that allows customer to wonder around in service bay.. Better not lest I land them in hot water and next time no more "confidential" docs for me to snap But most smaller authorized SCs don't mind their customers walking around the service area, simply because the customer lounge is not big enough. |

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Sep 16 2012, 10:15 PM) cannot be mod much because of still new or the turbo engine already the most which can be obtained from the engine? For CFE and IAFM+ CVT, the main limiter is the CVT tranny. too much increase of performance may drastically reduce the CVT's lifespan. Especially CFE, which is already operating at the edge of the VT3 CVT's tolerance range. If you wanna mod a Preve, buy the Manual IAFM+. |

If you're gonna make your appointment at COSE after 9-10am, you might have better luck to just walk-in before 8am.
I walked-in at 7.30 am to claim 3 items, was attended to at 8.30am, car driven into service bay shortly thereafter and car ready for collection before lunch. By 10 am, the lounge was already full of people. This post has been edited by dares: Sep 20 2012, 03:59 PM |
