I cant really tell listening to Rufez's but Rich and 37867 are really obvious. Now I don't know if I have it or not until I can listen and compare to one which is OWV free.

Engine stall/cut off when engaging into "R" and the once in a blue moon where the odometer when up and down erratically almost to the point of stalling when the car is stationary are the 2 main issues I would like to see an end to.

I know some of you would say those are not major issues... I just prefer not to have those niggling feelings at the back of my mind that my car will go into those "mood" unexpectedly. And that I have to shrug my shoulders when it happened in front of my family, friends and even strangers.... I am telling my colleagues it's a great car, the joy of driving it etc. but when it come to questions like "any issues?".....
*
hmmmm..once in a blue moon. from april until now...i encounter only 4 times... 3 times i did not practice the long way to start...the last time was i park car and it was not turn on more than 24 hours. then when i insert key fob and engage brake pedal and straight press the button again there was over cranking sound.
until now i not sure i have OWV but i think mine was not that severe compare to other members encounter that problem. early batch not sure all got that problem or certain cars only. not sure. we dont know the definite answer..

QUOTE(GoldenHawk @ Sep 11 2012, 11:46 PM)
Hi guys. Went to the Glenmarie SC today as I was given a 9.00AM appointment. Handed the keys & waited for 1.5 hours before someone attended to me. I patiently explained the issue (erratic idling & squeaking on the right side rear wheel area when moving & clutch bearing noise - which might need an MIR) & asked the guy if I can be arranged to talk to the mechanic once he had assessed my car. He said I'll have to either wait until it's my car's turn (don't know how long) OR come back @ 2.30PM and he'll arrange to meet a mechanic. So I took the 2nd option & went back to work.
Came back at 2.30PM, talked to the same guy and handed my keys over. Then I waited.... and waited.... and waited for a good 1.5 hours before he came back with "breaking news", stating that my idling problem "might" be due to the clutch bearing issue ( yawn.gif ). Then he proceeded to tell me they were waiting for me to send the car in for 2 days (with no relieve car possible) before actually checking the issue to make an MIR, then another 1 day to actually fix it. And all this without even touching my car.
When I said I'll deal with CoSE directly, he proceeded to make me wait another hour or so to check the squeaking noise. I called the guy after 10 minutes when I say no one checking up on my car, asked for my keys & left!

Summary:
1) Wasted almost 4 hours waiting for nothing. What's the point of an appointment when you have to wait 1 hour before you're even attended to?!!!
2) Nothing got fixed. Everything have to "refer to HQ". What are they there for anyway? Tukar minyak? That one also have to ask HQ every few minutes maybe?
3) Why can't they update us customers periodically when we're waiting there for hours like idiots?! They have all the time to meander around and peek at other people's car when it's being fixed, but not walk over to the waiting area and take 30 seconds to talk to the customer? Against some policy? OR just plain stupid?

Sorry for ranting here guys, just wanted you guys to know what service I got here so far... Disappointing to say the least... sad.gif
*
hmm... for this even you go to cose there is a service representative that attend to your car...you need to keep on bugging him or her for every 10 to 15 minutes to get things done faster. must say it to them you got appointment at 10.00 am or 11.00 am so latest by what time must have someone looks into it let you know estimated time. if you sit there wait and wait....some waited for long time then only get attention. so easier is if you know who is the person attend to your car. keep on bugging that person until get your car issue check. at least you know what is the estimated time your car gonna fix if need to wait or need to put your car there u can know immediately then you got time to plan.

try to take half day or even one day if you want go service center. unless u only go for 5k service or 10 k service the normal car service then within 1 hour or 1.30 hours can settle. (but u must push too)

Hello All,

Just update on the full tank of ron 95 Bhp petrol. I am currently clock at 11387km. before go out station to kedah (sungei petani) I am at 32km average 9.5l/100km.

now after one full tank i am at 34km average of 9.3km/100km.
One full tank from cheras to sungei petani kedah (got travel around a little bit around 5 km to makan and back home) and back to kl.. is around 673km.. remaining of 75km petrol sign beeping and i dont dare to take risk so i put petrol in ulu bernam. after that i can see rm85 ringgit of full tank.. (I keep on pressing the petrol until can see the petrol at the very tip of the gas tank nozzle.) then i travel again. To reach Toll plaza duta is only 73km...but the signboard keep on giving me different reading. so i just make up my mind and put petrol first before total finish petrol.

So you be the judge if turbo cars can consume lots of petrol or not.

All is in D mode. Auto Cruise is set normally around 100kmph. 2.1k rpm sometimes to overtake only 110kmph. 2.2 ~2.3k rpm

got three passenger. 15 kgs of luggage.
aircond set at number 3. chillness to 24C.
using semi syntetic.
tyre air pressure front is at 31kpa. and rear is at 30 kpa. same as the recommended pressure by proton at the side of the door.

You need to put additional 4 psi for front and rear as the recommended tyre pressure is for car on stationary position. Once the car have travelled more than 1.5km, the tyre have expanded and thus need to put in extra 4 psi. This tip was shared by mat79 on this forum sometime back.
*
hmmm.. that i think i need to put extra 2 or 3 psi infront. I heard people says about filling gas into that tyre instead of using air. It wont expand right? anyone use gas before? I heard my friend says it does not require to put in air every now and then. can use longer time. and the tyre is much more lighter.

I will be happy if my preve can reached 450km per full tank . Now my max is only 430km.. sad.gif

sure can. try drive consistent speed. through out the journey to longer distance like malacca. genting, cameron, ipoh or penang or even further away until border of thailand and see if it got change. but must be consistent. abit boring but thats the way to get a good reading. when take over car...gently press pedal to overtake not press down to the floor within 1 or 2 seconds to get that speed...of course make sure the car at the right is not running at 200kmph and more than 10 cars away then can safely do that.

Why do you need to masuk octane booster? Preve already designed to run at 95 octane. I don't see any need to boost octane that do nothing for the current engine except burning more $$$.

Ya lor, its almost ALWAYS better to overinflate your tyre slightly rather than underinflate. Air will lari slowly, so after a short while, you'll be optimum pressure. Underinflate WILL always be below optimum pressure, wear side treads and increase FC. So I see no benefit in pumping below recommended pressure unless you're using a really hard tyre where it might be too bumpy if you maintain higher pressure.
*
hmmm about the bumpy part my tyre is come with the standard GT Radial Champiro Bax2 tyre. Not sure if this tyre is hard type or what every time at highway when reach the simen floor it will generate very loud sound and also quite bumpy. is it because of our spring is new so that it is bumpy or is it because of the tyre got too much air that cause that.

when i receive my car new that time the pressure is way too high. 38 or 40 if i not mistaken. can be seen at the side cause it huge like balloon. and feel bumpier ride each time pass the bump. old people cannot sit in a bumpy car even we have comfy seats. so reduce tyre pressure seems to reduce abit of the bumpy feeling. is it cause of the preve spring too long should i make it shorter so that it wont bounce that much?

or should i change to better tyre like michelin or CC5 for soft and comfort? thinking of changing tyre...but of course until the current one wears off only change. i think cheapest is around rm 280 ~ rm 320 per tyre.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Oct 3 2012, 09:24 AM)
Yes, it takes longer to lari angin if using nitrogen. The truth is beside this, effect on normal daily drive is negligible. I used to pump nitrogen for one of my car. Usually overpump it by 3-4 psi cold pressure due to my softer tyres. Takes a few months before needing to refill nitrogen again. Free nitro for the life of that tyres coz I bought the new tyres from that shop. So its worth it.

However if I have to pay for it, no way I'm going for nitro coz besides lasting a bit longer, I don't feel any other effect for daily drive. Racing kaki might want it coz every seconds improvement counts....but for avg driver, I don't think those seconds are important enuf to pay RM20 bucks for each refill.....

Anyway since that tyre shop nitro spoiled quite some times ago, I switch back to air. Find it more convenient in fact coz I do not need to time myself to go to shop to pump. Just drop by any station in abt 1 month interval (I still overpump, so will last a while), more convenient timing...also can pump very early morning or late night, no need wait for shop to open. (You still have to pump air while its cold...abt 2-4km from house, if lari whole day, then go pump, air will still runs even if its nitro...not very accurate).
*
So air and gas can mix or not... let say after 3 to four months u use gas nitrogen and suddenly in the highway no shop to put gas can i put in normal air to refill the tyre?

yes i tried before. initial power preve CFE is good. but after reaching 185 ~ 190 range...crz can maintain it speed reach more than that 200 mark easily. aero dynamic of CRZ plus lighter weight helps alot too. 1.1tonne CRZ vs 1.3 tonne preve. 40 litre crz vs 50 litre preve....calculated weight u know which car is lighter. 174nm torque for CRZ 6 speed gear manual 1500k rpm max torque crz vs 205 nm torque 7 speed gear 2000k rpm max torque preve

Can i still take CFE? XD

if want save environment. save fuel. CRZ. lighter. but no boot...and back seat....if u got small kids can seat. if u want big boot. go preve. but it consume bit more when jam areas. can get at least 370~ 420 la. 50% 50%..if 100% city jam everytime got lots of hill maybe will get 330~ 350 range. but all and all need to get more than 10k milage only u will know the real fuel consumption u have.

Water Beading you be the judge. For me i think it is not 100% full droplets. is like half hemisphere. if full protection water beading should be each water droplets almost like bulat bulat round shape like mini ball.

Dunno how true is true. but let see if this water beading effect can last another 6 months.

I got my car 26 April on 27 April i got it done. By Sierra Glow.

Actually I dunno last time about Opti Coat if got this I want to Opti Coat. It is permanent coating. The coating resistant is better than Sierra Glow. It is thicker some more. 0.05microns compare to 1 mil of course 1 mil is thicker other than that it is harder.
Sierra Glow will get thinner when it is wipe with Optimum Power Clean. Chemical Resistant not that high. so I just wait until no more water beading only try on opti coat.. actually feel wasted cause got 5 years warranty by sierra glow if i switch to opti coat no more warranty.

when u put water at the bonnet will it have water sheeting? the water run down smoothly or is like running down slowly. now rainy days. make sure if u are indoor. wipe glass and bonnet and top of your car with dry cloth. dont send to normal outside car wash rm 10 type. the sabun or white snow foam they use might make your sierra glow coating thinner at the end will be the same as no coating. wash car yourself. spend 20 to 30 mins per wash. i usually wash my car for 1 hour. per tyre around 10 minutes. carpet cleaning. and dashboard wiping with normal car wash shampoo.

previously the water run very smoothly...after frequent rain in penang, the water run very slowly...somehow like "melekat" feeling...
never sent to outside car wash, i just use plain water and smooth cloth to wash (not any rough cloth)...didnt use any shampoo at all...
i washed my car every week, except raining in sunday..
total time to wash my car inside out, 2hours++ (body, tyre, dashboard, carpet, doors frame, top, inside bonnet, back bonnet...all area where i can wipe using cloth,...)
*
....no wonder... no lubricant at all.... just water...you can. spray water...then use a leaf blower or strong wind to blow off the water without using microfibre cloth.

if u use normal water with micro fiber cloth dry....it eventually.....is like very soft type of abbrasive "sand paper" slowly it will come out. even with microfiber..

plain water also can provided if not too greasy. normally even after a long distance drive. especially rainy days. it much dirtier can just spray with water then dry with microfiber. but best if got ph neutral car shampoo to total clean up the grease and other contaminant. if you let say travel at 100 or 110kmph...the bugs that get squash infront of your bonnet or bumper is very hard to clean even with just spraying water. dirt and grease is easier to fall off if got coating but it will not prevent it from falling off completely must use little bit of car shampoo too.

Hahahaha I have this problem before. I ask the CAT team they say nothing is in there. If the coin or paper get in there it will end up land at carpet only it won't ruin your gear box. So remember don't put coins or small paper near that hole.

Do u want the technician to open up the whole center console just to take out the coin or small pcs of paper? The process of open and close at the end will make your center console to be loose at the end more vibrating sound u will hear if each time got things get inside u ask them to take out.

I am currently trying to learn polishing technique from opti team. KC the detailer hope I can learn all that from him then maybe when I become pro I can provide service to you guys. Sierra glow is at rm700 per car with 5 years warranty. I not sure how much I want to charge but seriously it is a tedious task. At least 3 and half to 4 hours time for new cars. If I master the technique already then only I will dare give out service to people. Stay tune. If got lots of member car maybe I can do opti coat cheaper.

You didn't answer my question anyway.
Was it fully city driving with several stop and go?
Average per trip how many KM?

It will be good for comparison.
I have some discussion even with members from Klang Valley who have 50/50 city/highway driving, they are getting around 10 to 10.5l/100km FC.
Full city driving like me, hardly a trip more than 7km, registering near to 13l/100km   doh.gif  doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
Myself, WilsonCheah and Sylvie do scratching our head due to the bad FC, Ipoh travel here n there....not very far somehow...
Hopefully after 5k service, things will improve. Gonna try 5w30 next.
*
will get better after 10k. from 10.8~ 10.6 ~ 10.2 ~ 9.8 ~ 9.6 ~9.4 now is 9.2l/100km route that i take the same. accelerate only while overtake. consistent 80 or 90 or 100kmph while travel highway. try to go outstation consistent cruising speed can take you more than 650 km for one full tank.

you cannot get a good reading for just a few hundred km of running on the road. you can see true figure around 5k to 10km going through same route if the average still can drop means it is improving if remain the same that is most likely your daily FC. mine currently at 9.2l/100km one rm 85 full tank can reach 510 to 520 km. 80~90~100kmph speed. sometime overtake 110kmph. D mode. CFE

Long time never post in here. so just update some FC. now is at 9.2l/100km sometimes will be 9.3 or 9.4l/100km but now maximum i can only get 9.2l/100km around 520 to 525 km for one rm 85 full tank.

getting more and more rough engine sound.. the dashboard i think the sc say they still dont have any solution for that on the right hand side will rattle a little bit when press the accelerator. during uphill or standstill.

manage to get the undercarriage rust painted by sc. but only on the right side the left side not painted yet maybe they forgot so next visit need to ask them to do again.
