QUOTE(mat79 @ Sep 10 2012, 10:51 AM)
about engine stall when engage reverse gear, try to confirm with sc whether ocv is at fault coz iinm there is a recall on affected ocv recently.

Car dont move during traffic light, i think there is a glitch among sensors causing the cvt clutch keep open. If the cvt icon dissappear n never return until 20 times start, the fault code will be cleared coz it thinks it just minor glitch, but if persist, please check it asap so that can detect the probs.
*

Abang mat79, how about a manual with similar problem? I've stalled my car several times when I slot into 1st, then rev the engine a little. Not yet release clutch also.
Nowadays, I'm especially scared when I stop @ toll. I have to rev REALLY high to launch or the car will suddenly shudder & die sad.gif I've already sent my car for 10000KM service & they did something called "adaptation". Now the problem is worse sad.gif
Something i realize though. If I release clutch and don't press accelerator, the car takes off smoothly. The idle automatically increases & the car start moving. After that, if I totally release the clutch & press the accelerator the car takes off (very slowly also lah tongue.gif ) but it doesn't stall (unless the A/C disengages - then whole hell breaks loose! sad.gif ). Is this the anti-stall mechanism working (if there is one)?

QUOTE(mat79 @ Sep 10 2012, 04:27 PM)
its not ocv in ur case. I hope u already update with latest version of engine adaptation program. Since using dbw@drive by wire, u need to rev a bit more to move since it doesnt transfer 100% throttle input during start to move, due to emmision cntrl, sometimes call throttle lag for dbw.
Try rev between 1.5k-1.8k rpm when start to move from 1st gear. Iinm, u will see the rev drop automatically a bit even if u maintain the pedal at same pressure, but it wont stall the car.I think that shud solve ur probs.

But try to check with sc whether they already update with latest version 1st as arthur inform earlier. Same apply to cfe on the program coz they r some reports earlier on the stalling. ocv only for cfe n being recalled to those affected according certain batch number.

But no harm checking ocv for cfe if encounter the same probs.

Hopefully this help.

Thanks for the reply Abg. mat79 smile.gif I'll check with the Glenmarie SC when I go for my appointment tomorrow. The clutch-bearing noise is getting worse and I think I need to get it resolved urgently as well sad.gif
By the way, I drive a manual (not CFE) so I guess the OCV issue not relevant to me, right? unsure.gif

About the launching issue, yes, I do occasionally rev about 1.5K - 2K RPM but when I rev once, release the pedal a bit then rev again (to adjust), the RPM drops quite low. As a result, I stall sometimes too sad.gif Even if you press about the same intensity for both times, the first time high, then the second time low. That coupled with the slow response of the DBW makes judging the power a bit difficult sad.gif Is this normal Abg. mat79?

Thanks for all the advice anyway smile.gif Appreciate it A LOT!!! biggrin.gif

Err... what is OCV? unsure.gif I seem to have confused "OCV" with "OWV" sad.gif

Hi guys. Went to the Glenmarie SC today as I was given a 9.00AM appointment. Handed the keys & waited for 1.5 hours before someone attended to me. I patiently explained the issue (erratic idling & squeaking on the right side rear wheel area when moving & clutch bearing noise - which might need an MIR) & asked the guy if I can be arranged to talk to the mechanic once he had assessed my car. He said I'll have to either wait until it's my car's turn (don't know how long) OR come back @ 2.30PM and he'll arrange to meet a mechanic. So I took the 2nd option & went back to work.
Came back at 2.30PM, talked to the same guy and handed my keys over. Then I waited.... and waited.... and waited for a good 1.5 hours before he came back with "breaking news", stating that my idling problem "might" be due to the clutch bearing issue ( yawn.gif ). Then he proceeded to tell me they were waiting for me to send the car in for 2 days (with no relieve car possible) before actually checking the issue to make an MIR, then another 1 day to actually fix it. And all this without even touching my car.
When I said I'll deal with CoSE directly, he proceeded to make me wait another hour or so to check the squeaking noise. I called the guy after 10 minutes when I say no one checking up on my car, asked for my keys & left!

Summary:
1) Wasted almost 4 hours waiting for nothing. What's the point of an appointment when you have to wait 1 hour before you're even attended to?!!!
2) Nothing got fixed. Everything have to "refer to HQ". What are they there for anyway? Tukar minyak? That one also have to ask HQ every few minutes maybe?
3) Why can't they update us customers periodically when we're waiting there for hours like idiots?! They have all the time to meander around and peek at other people's car when it's being fixed, but not walk over to the waiting area and take 30 seconds to talk to the customer? Against some policy? OR just plain stupid?

Sorry for ranting here guys, just wanted you guys to know what service I got here so far... Disappointing to say the least... sad.gif

Correct, EON SS13 or Setapak 3S, among the 2 SCs that so far got the good rep nowadays. The other one would be Senawang I think. The one in ss14 PJ solved some of the issues but not all.Back in those days where deepan used to bring his car there. Donno where he is now though..
*
Friend, got map or not? unsure.gif I'm bad with addresses sad.gif

By the way, I heard that the 'adaptation' we mentioned about previously was actually "clutch adaptation" and it has something to do with the ratio adjustment for CVT 'boxes only, not manuals. This is what I got from the idiots who attended to my car anyway. Anyone can confirm this? unsure.gif

today while winding down the driver window to take parking ticket, noted some krak krak sound when the window is coming down.. tried a few times after that sound still there and it only starts when the window is halfway down.. anybody faced something like this before?
*
Yes, had this. They replaced my regulator. Please highlight this during whenever you drop by the service center.

and another issue is I've set my HU brightness to auto, so whenever I on my car lights the HU backlight will dim off but occasionally it'll light up & go dim again. This happens randomly almost on a daily basis..
*
Check if it is really 'random' or it occurs whenever your A/C kicks in. If when A/C kicks in, then its a common problem. Many Preve owners already complain. You'll get the "A/C compressor very powerful..." crap from SC sad.gif

Furry sriver seats has been claimed by some of us already. Our very own Drycell from this LYN oso change his in CoSE but usually the SA will have a look see first then make u an appointment to see the vendor. When u go this Monday push the SA to make the appointment on the same day bro.
*
I think the "furry seat" issue will not have a permanent solution. The more you rub on it, the "furrier" it becomes. The only surefire way of solving it is to replace the seat covers smile.gif Leather anyone? biggrin.gif

BTW, I spent another 4 hours in CoSE yesterday ( shakehead.gif ) and they finally agreed to fix the bl00dy issue! They will order parts & some time next week, I'll need to hand over my ride to them. Still no confirmation on a replacement car though, so I'll call them this Friday to confirm.

I also have an erratic idling issue (still). When A/C disengage, the idling sometimes OK, sometimes modulates high & low. Anyone SUCCESSFULLY fixed it yet? unsure.gif

If it sounds very rough, could be the regulator. They will happily replace it if you complaint. Got mine replaced a few weeks ago after service - very rough "krrrrrok" sound when winding down

why folks still want to go to COSE even there are many complaints from those who have been there?

kena cucuk baru tau sakit, then come complaint2 again?
*

Which you prefer:
1) Being bounced back & forth from SC to SC because they "need to check with HQ" for every single thing; or
2) Go to HQ, sit there until someone gets you a conclusive answer, although its 4 hours later?

It depends on severity of issue-lah bro... like my case, I have no where to go EXCEPT CoSE. Unless you have a better suggestion of course...

Well, that's not a solution, is it? Just rants... But maybe if you run a service center in the near future, I'll drop by & take an Evora while you fix mine... biggrin.gif
They give free coffee though tongue.gif

QUOTE(arthur88 @ Sep 19 2012, 12:42 PM)
means u only convenient to go to COSE only?

in my case, i went to several Edar SC, yes, need to refer back to HQ, or they said never encounter such problem before, or, biasala/normal la for all preve...then i change my mind goto EON SC instead, they also need to refer HQ, but not every single problem, and they really take action compare to Edar SC which talk cock sing song only...

so far i'm very satisfied with the EON SC i went to, everytime very responsive to all the problems i stated to them.
*
Not really. Left with no choice actually sad.gif Everything also point to CoSE. So I ended up going there myself. However, since you suggested EON service, I'll try it the next time. Thanks bro smile.gif

mat79 did. Try to maintain the below or at 2000rpm because that will be the time where maximum torque comes at.
That should allow the vehicle to run at maximum torque and also the optimum fuel efficiency.

Again, playing the throttle pedal and mixing with the CVT characteristics will help too. [Which I dun fully understand yet]
*
Seriously?! shocking.gif There's no power below 2000RPM bro... The car starts pulling away > 2000RPM. That also VERY gradually... Try driving a manual & you'll understand sad.gif

for cfe, not iafm+. I did mentioned before turbine spooling :-). For iafm+ manual preve, i think around 120nm++ shud be ok, it shud be around 2.5k rpm to 3k rpm max for town driving. While cvt iafm+ 2k rpm to 2.5k rpm shud be enough. Unless need more pulling power. Bye.

Yes Abg. mat79, that sounds about right smile.gif On highway driving, it'll be about 90km/h to 100km/h. I usually cruise @ 3000RPM smile.gif
