• Due to the sheer size of the Facebook group, the Committee agreed to take on external members to join the Committee solely to govern the Facebook group. As such, they were given mandate to govern the Facebook Group as they saw fit.

• Unfortunately, the authority entrusted upon them was misplaced. Despite many complaints from the members back then, we continued to stand on their side and accepted the reasoning that they had given.

• However, after some observation, the Committee found certain actions of the Moderators to be out of line. Hence, there were disagreements between us namely with the over-aggressiveness of the Moderators then.

• We, the original Committee Members, were deemed as unsuitable and too lenient by the Moderators in dealing with some of the members that were dismissed from the Group.

• The start of the downward spiral begun with the re-admission of a dismissed member to the Group by our very own President. The Moderators demanded an explanation from the President and when one was given, they claimed the action of the President to be undermining their Authority.

• Seeing that subsequent responses from the rest of the Committee no longer being in line with theirs, the two Moderators then successively declared their resignation and stepped down from their post and removed themselves as Facebook Moderator.

• Though saddened by the turn of events, we had thought a conclusion was reached. However, approximately 24 hours after the resignation of the two Moderators, a coup d’état was initiated by what we can only assume as a third Facebook Moderator in allegiance to them. A hostile take-over was administered to the Facebook page and all the original Committee Members were dismissed as a Facebook Moderator, including the original founder of the Facebook Group, Vignes MK.

• Being locked out entirely from the Facebook Group, we were forced to accept their control. Worried for the well-being of the Club and its members, we confronted the Rogue Moderators and pointed out that such behaviour is unacceptable and that there we will not bow to such ridiculous demands. Seeing our stance, they proceeded to cut all ties with PREVOC and as retaliation, kicked us out of our very own Facebook Group.

• Realizing the gravity of the situation, our Secretary deemed it necessary to publicly announce in the Preve Thread located at Lowyat.Net as well as the Prevoc.Org forum that the Facebook Group was no longer under our control.

• For fear of the group disbanding without a proper channel and means to communicate, the Committee convened virtually and a new Facebook group was created.

On behalf of the Committee, I hereby officially declare that we, Proton Prevé Owners Club Malaysia (PREVOC) are no longer associated with the previous Facebook page as well as these three individuals that instigated the coup d’état: Shariman Zainal Abidin, Haffez Erniza Fayyad and Amir Firdaus. Let it be known that they no longer represent the club, nor are they, in anyway, related to the Club.
Therefore, we strongly urge not to disclose any more information in the previous Facebook Group and to spread the news to other members. Rest assured however official membership information remains safe with us, as access is limited to the President and Secretary. We would also highly appreciate information in this new Facebook Group be kept to members of Prevoc.

It is our sincerest wish that this new FB page will be a lounge for all the members. When we say lounge, we are not referencing to the atmosphere of a “mamak” nor a “kopitiam”. There is a bit of professionalism we expect from all members when posting their comment.

To wrap it up, we would like to extend our deepest and sincerest apology for the dramatic turn of events and for producing this statement a little later than expected. We have finally come to terms with the saddening incident and hope that together with all our members, we can move on for a better days in PREVOC for all of us.
