Wong Hock 'Chuan' is a Malaysian gamer who plays for China's Team iG along with 4 other Chinese players. Coming from the losers bracket to reach the final, the team managed to defeat last year's winner, Na'vi in a best-of-5 series. Also, the Singaporean team Zenith got tied in 5th place ($35,000) and Malaysia's Orange got 7th place winning $25,000. Holy shit..

200k USD is already what super professional SC players (the most popular esport) earn in YEARS.

He got it in just a single tourney.

Valve ftw.

RM600000 / RM800 (Basic promoter in wages) = 750 months of wages = 62years and 6 months salary

He gained quite alot of fame too for looking like snorlax.
His rage face is like photoshopped into many of the heroes. Another thing is he's malaysian but his english during his interview at TI2 was just piss bad.. Zzzz. I was thinking I guess it was alright for a china dude to speak such english but when i found out he was THE Malaysian in the team.. I facepalmed..

You can't expect everyone to be a master of everything, can you? For example, you can't expect everyone's Dota skills to be on the same level as him, so I don't see the point in expecting him to have a good grasp of English. For all we know, he is way better when it comes to conversing Mandarin in China slang compared to the majority of us.

It;s like yourself. You have better English than Chuan but yet your gameplay skill is not where near him. No one is perfect.

He left his home and move to China for training WITHOUT letting anyone knowing beforehand, including his family, and staying there for few years. It's not easy to achieve what Chuan has achieved.

Chuan is a sick farmer. Gives real credit to the term ricing as often associated with Chinese teams.

Chuan is a very good overall player IMO.

Last time when I was still in the competitive Dota gaming league, we have a few sessions with KS (which that time ChuaN and papaxiong still in KS) and KS.INT

He is indeed a very good player.

btw, China has offered Yamateh & Papaxiong to participate them as well. But YMT and PPX decline their offer if im not mistaken, and PPX left the league.

Still, I kinda miss the old days with HyHy tongue.gif
