QUOTE(chitchat @ Sep 24 2012, 11:26 AM)
tip for the act pro : go see the replay

IMO both going for the ball, both clip the ball, both are doing dangerous tackle, it should be a yellow. For the penalty, well i can say LIVERPOOL was unlucky with referee yesterday and for MANU, a win is a win, to be champion means the team have to manage to win even on a bad day.
*
It was the manner in which he went in that got him sent off. After Giggs, he straight away launch himself into the tackle. If he slid in, it wouldn't have been much of a problem, but he jumped into the tackle.. studs showing, and he got the man.

QUOTE(kikurazz @ Sep 24 2012, 11:10 AM)
IMHO i don't think we played TOO badly - it was Liverpool who played really well even when they were 1 men down

what were some expecting - to run over Liverpool @ Anfield, a place where we have not win since 2007??

yes we could have done better (especiaily one particular Mr. Nani) but overall defensively we were really solid - Rio + Evans could not have done better and Lindegaard was very impressive

we got away with some refereeing decisions but i admit but at the end of the day 3 points in the bag is all that matter (i would have been happy to walk away with 1) so hopefully we'll get our acts together first for Newcastle, then Spurs this weekend

really no point going thru over and over again debating whether that was a red card, was that a penalty, was Mark Halsey on our side, etc. MOVE ON LADS
*
It was poor, same as most of our games this season. Striker isolated, and we can't hold onto the ball. After the first few mins where we looked quite good, it fizzles out. Story of our season, except for against Wigan, and bits here and there every game where we look good, but never consistent. We need them wingers back.. the rest will fall into place when that happens.

btw i not really happy with win becoz MU struggle against bottom 3 team...

Even if they get relegated two leagues below, and we play them there, it will be hard no matter how good our form is. It's becoming a mental block like Everton vs them always losing, or Atletico vs Real, but this time the better team(us) continue to lose. An ugly win, early season..good enough for me. We don't have to go there anymore hopefully. sweat.gif

QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Sep 24 2012, 01:37 PM)
shelvey lunged but got the ball first (side-footed too), evans missed the ball entirely and went studs first on shelvey's leg.

the only fault that shelvey has is that both his feet left the ground. and evans is no better as he went in two-footed studs first, and missed the ball too
*

Hi there Mr. Magoo. No new movies?
Even from the gifyou posted, it's crystal clear that Evans got the ball first. And if it wasn't for that, Shelvey would bw gping straight for Evans and looked worse. Look at Evans left foot trying to sidefoot it. Harld studs showing straight like Shelvey.

did you know he use that leg to clear the ball? yes you are hallucinating.

They use Mr. Magoo vision. I heard they gonna remake it soon, shooting in Liverpool.

Ya really what also come out, EVANS deflect ball to SHELVEY lar, EVANS touch the ball first lar, but does it matter ? both touch the ball, got say who touch first who win is it ? no matter how i see it, is a 50-50 and both are dangerous, a yellow for SHELVEY but i can accept his aggression on the match prior to this might make ref giving him the red.

Itu dia, personal insult start liao. I am cabut first before it turn into insult war  laugh.gif

Let's see. Both jump into the tackle. Check.
Evans got to the ball first. Check.
He sidefoot it in fact. Check.
Shelvey came powering through and studs showing and eventually hit Evans with those studs. Check.
Easy decision.

Now where is that let the butthurt flow through you jpeg went? Anybody wanna contribute? laugh.gif

He sidefoot it in fact - At which angle does it look like sidefoot? i can see both his feet, all studs, crystal clear, as he lunges.
can printscreen what you see and show it to me please then I will rest my case.

Please do. Amuse us. Substitute for vaseline that. It helps.

Evans right foot sidefoot it onto Shelvey's path, who went studs first and hit Evans.. far more clearer compared to EVIAN's mineral water.
Focus point got lots of sale lately. Might help you.

You're trying so hard. Bless you.

Seriously, look at the gifs/video/or that screenshots that you make or something. Look at Evans right foot. He sidefoot the ball, and because of the momentum of course the studs is gonna show in front of Shelvey. What was he suppose to do? Kick the ball but quickly pull back his leg?

Newcastle in the COC. Wonder who we can play in defence.. Evans and Buttner and maybe Fletcher at RB? we are a bit light at the back and in the COC, I doubt we gonna play the injury prone Rio and Vida who was rested because he felt his knee again or something.

Oh yea the league cup. Must be a youngboy squad against an almost first team of newcastle. I really hope saf dont Field van persie and vidic in this game.

Chance for Buttner, Cleverley, Ando, Powell, Chicharito, Welbeck, Fletcher and maybe even Henriquez to play. Evans probably gonna play as well..

RB/RM if we want to give Ando, Cleverley and Powell games as well. And Michael Keane is still with us right? Or he already went out on loan.. plays RB for the reserves if I'm not mistaken.

Valencia probably should have released the ball far earlier to RVP. 3vs2 that time.. oh well, we got the penalty and we finally scored from that!

Rumours saying that we will sign a new centreback in january. But oh yeah, all our centre backs seem to be injury prone. Example: Rio, evans, smalling, jones, vidic.  sweat.gif
*
Doubt it, unless it's one for the future kind of type.
Rafael, *Fabio(if need be)
Rio, Vida, Evans, Smalling, Jones
Evra, Buttner

Carrick can cover for a couple of games if need be. Not ideal, but we can't just go out and buy players just because we have a couple of injuries in a particular position like at CB where we have 5 specialist CBs.

Too early to call Smalling and Jones as injury prones. Jones played 41 games last year.

so Wootton,Keane or Fornasier should be emergency back up.

please not Carrick on the centre back again. (in case Evans or Rio to be rested)
*

Outside the cup games I doubt we would see anyone of those starts over Carrick for the CB role if things get worse. SAF just don't think they're good enough I guess. Carrick covered here in the past. Then there was that Fletch-Carrick-Evra combo if I'm not mistaken.

Smalling is near..hopefully the worst is over. Rio, Evans and Smalling..

Our captain lor. With him our def definately superb. Without him soso only. He makes a big difference at the back. But yes i dont agree to buy anymore defenders, we bought enough need to keep some spot for prospects.
Besides it better to keep the money this coming january maybe some certain portugese player wana come back brows.gif

My god i having a hard time in liv thread. How can they call us arrogant. Damit this particular elite like to judge people la in his comments. He dont seem to realize wan laugh.gif

It's not so bad. Rooney/Welbeck can play there as well. Less headache for SAF how to fit all of RVP, Kagawa and Rooney in. It's at the back is the problem. Michael Keane is still around right?

QUOTE(alowie @ Sep 26 2012, 04:21 PM)
I a bit disagree about the comment that says our defense is at best with Vida on field, simply weaker without him. I didn't find Vida since last season among the best defender United has, his performances haven't been good with his performance against City at Community Shield last season as the highlight of it, and it was continued throughout the season until he's hampered by injury, and by this season with him on field also we've only won 1 clean sheet and it was an easy home game against Wigan. I know that can't be the only indicator since defensive responsibility is shared by the whole team but that may say something, the return of Evans is a pure relieve.

imo the best defenders United has now are Evans, Rio, and Smalling when they're fit. that's imo n i know many will disagree. I just hope Vida will come back stronger.
*
As good as Evans and Smalling are(especially considering how young they are), they're still not as good as Vida. As for last season I thought the whole side was a bit shaky defensively early part of last season. It took until mid season or so before we tighten up a bit. We were a bit gungho early season before most of them went injured and the tried and trusted players get some form. As for this season kinda harsh because he just came back from a long injury lay off and thrown in straight away because we don't have any other options. There's a reason SAF give him the captaincy. He's absolutely a beast.

We're gonna miss him, but as long as Evans and Rio are fit, we'll be fine. Hopefully Smalling recover early and we can rotate him with Rio.

Added on September 26, 2012, 4:37 pmIts a bit kneejerk reaction that. Apart from Rio and the twins, I think the others are normal injuries. What hurts us is that they all go out at the same time.

Doesn't matter. He got the captaincy and that's that. His last two injuries are unlucky IMO. He was fine before this.

QUOTE(mrkenn @ Sep 27 2012, 01:05 AM)
We have many hot prospects like Michael Keane, Vermijl and Wootton. But they are all still very raw, unexperienced. They will probably just continue to play for our under-21 team.
Last season was a terrible season for vidic, and he's struggling to return this season, but now he got injured again.  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

At his best, he's one of the world's best centre-back, and his role to the team is just like how important Vincent Kompany is towards man city.

When jones and smalling are back,I believe they will even threaten Evans' first team spot as CB, those two young englishmen just need more games.
*

Evans is so underrated just because of one bad season in which he was poor just a few months. Jones who makes mistakes all the time got a free pass. Last season he won his place back as the third CB in the squad. All three will be very good for us. Smalling looks imperious at time and Jones is the all action type..maybe SAF have bigger plans for him re midfield role but don't think he has the tools to make it work.
