Ah boon gor, i'm still in learning stage, there are plenty of people above me tongue.gif

Value investing = Fundamental analysis

They change the wording to make it more attractive laugh.gif Can i join your class? tongue.gif

U can google search the seminar "The millionaire investing program" by Ken Chee, i went for the briefing seminar organized by CIMB last 2 weeks and personally think that the fee is a bit steep for wage earner like me sweat.gif
*
In Bolehland, I do not think actually count on Fundamentals alone.

Branding and packing are imp, like KLCC and Kassets ( repackaging ) . Astro and Maxis more examples.

Whether investors like yr products ( like Iphones ) then they buy lah, at PE 100x also never mind one.

Ken Chee's website: http://www.millionaireinvestor.asia/founders.html
His partner, Clive, learned from Curtis Montgomery. This kwai lou very the geng! Wrote investing book based on SunTzu teachings!  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

Yeah, one of the thing Ken Chee teaches is getting passive incomes from dividends.
Which as you know, in my opinion, is badly twisted here.
People forget that the ability to pay dividends comes from a company's earnings.
When the company's earnings starts to decline, dividend will start to decline.
Of course, a company, like Media Chinese has demonstrated, they can bend the rules by borrowing to pay dividends. laugh.gif
Which dividend payout is sustainable, is common sense hor.

Then there are some who get the dividends but is offset by the huge decline in share price but because everyone claims they are making big money from dividends, these people will just keep quiet. Frustrated by how their dividends is vomited out by the sharp decline in share price.

Hehe.. value investing = fundamental analysis meh?
This website says different: http://www.buffettsecrets.com/techniques.htm

Sun Tzu hmm.gif

Apparently, Japanese used it during the wars and Russian spy ( KGB ) applied Sun Tzu ideas too. thumbup.gif

知彼知己,百戰不殆;不知彼而知己,一勝一負;不知彼,不知己,每戰必殆

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle

I think Digi is still deem very good for investors who pay attentions to cash flows, with their non-cash items is as much as their PBT. This ensurse the investors that despite their 'apparent high earnings valuations', their dividend payout is sustainable for the long run.
*
Kinda true, current trend is cashflow commands lot of premiums nowaday esp by " returning " them to the shareholders.

That is I like M yawn.gif

Telcos are very good at balancing Capex and maintaining a very good casflow generally for distribution, even after paying the loan installments.

Maybe they can amend " the deprecation rate " a bit lower to give u back more money like TM laugh.gif

Most of it derived from depreciation RM666mil, the cash flow from earning is just enough for dividend payout (if take out the drawdown of loan RM500mil). So my guess dividend for the future quarter/year is highly depending on increase of earning

Can teach me? tongue.gif

I only know RSI is to see oversell or overbuy laugh.gif
*
Many Telcos have increased their loans size for future capex, but also increase or maintaining the dividends hmm.gif

The beauty of it, is able to match both yawn.gif

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Sep 18 2012, 12:51 PM)
There's a lot of money 'depreciated' in Digi's account.
Depreciation is a must but what then happens to the 666 million.
Their equipment is depreciated but not their money.
The 666 million is real money which is added back to Digi's bank.

This is such a beauty.
DIGI current PBT is 825 million but they have paid 964 million in dividends. (last year same period, their dividend payout is only 668 million)
They took a 500 million loan.
Yet their bank cash increased by 418 million to 1.5 Billion!
Not many other company balance sheet as solid as this.
*
Roughly 500m cash added to the accounts after paying out about 1B dividends thumbup.gif

+Depreciation 666
+ Loan taken 500
- Loan repaid 150
- Int paid 12m

Before tax paid and assets buying ( 500m ) plus others

Loan taken merely to boost cash account temp.

More room for creative accounting yawn.gif
