1.Starhill - hospitality?
2.Al-AQAR Healthcare - i thought is healthcare? instead of plantation?
3.Al-Hadharah

hey all, to calculate gearing ratio, the formula is (total liabilities/total assets)*100 ya? the total liabilities is also meant total gross borrowings?

Liabilities include payables etc. But in gearing ratio, I believe only borrowings/loans are taken into account.

oh, so normally it is under Balance Sheet and i just need to take the Borrowing (under non-current liabilities) only is it? Other payables and Provision for income distribution can be neglected then?

Thanks smile.gif

Non-current liabilities just means liabilities that due within a year time.
So if the borrowing is due within a year, the amount will be transferred from non-current (last year balance sheet) to current.

Payables, provision and also borrowing due within a year, all are under current liabilities.

So one cannot assume borrowing is all under non-current liabilities, as borrowing can be in non-current liabilities as well as current liabilities.

Normally, one should be able to spot the actual borrowing amount, as they are stated in the balance sheet details.
Those operation and routine payables are under current liabilities are not borrowing and normally not considered in gearing ratio.

Ahh, thanks for the bonus explanation on difference between non-current liabilities and current liabilities. by understanding them, so one should consider also borrowings under both non/current liabilities then. and to double confirm, payables (routine/operation) can neglected in calculating gearing ratio.

thanks mate smile.gif
