What do you guys think about Hwang Asia Pacific ex Japan Infrastructure, supposedly covering REITs for AP market except Japan?
About couple of weeks ago, they gave dividend of 5% and market price has gone down (readjusted accordingly). Any upside potential in short term?

Property market has been on the sideways with not much of upside in the near future. Plenty of new stocks in office coming on board in the next half year. Is it time to ditch REITs now?

that's already happening in us-eu. funds are moving out of bonds, reits and gold into equities again.

however, locally, bursa is very much "internal", less vulnerable to such forces.

still, i will not rush. if buying, can buy slowly as long as the yield becomes acceptable.

buying low yield ones with hope of good gain caps would be a mistake at this time, imo.

Bro AVFAN, what is considered reasonable yield for REITs now? Above how much %?
I bought a REIT fund from HwangDBS, have been sliding down since one month already --> dropped >10% cry.gif

I saw many quoted the dividend yields, some even till year 2014. Where can I check this info?

BAD for reits
1) US will reduce massive US Bill buying, therefore require Investor to pruchase their Bill, to do so they will increase the rate.
the rate between US bill vs US reits juz different of 100bps, investor mostly move their moneyflies.gif for lower risk

2) To avoid massive outflow of hot money, those FF invested in Mreits will either move to MGS or move back their own country.
REIT money are for yield, then the yield vs US bill or MGS not much different and lower risk, the smart money will move to avoid KABOOM.

My 2 sen, see above my statement correct.  notworthy.gif thanks sifu....let me know if im wrong.

Would like to check how significant is this movement of foreign funds affecting MYR - USD rate? The Ringgit has weakened very severely in the past few weeks.

It does have an effect.

In fact, foreign funds are pulling out from Asia region (ex-Japan), (previously pour in due to QE), which resulting USD rising across for the past month.

This really has dampen the import business. Goods are becoming costlier now. Worse case is dont know whether need to delay in bills settlement in USD or not...trying time

IGBREIT dividend to be paid on 29 August 2013

Thanks. Usually it's after dividend payment only price will come down. This time, it's already down before dividend (due to external funds cashing out)
Not sure whether shd go in now or wait till post 29 Aug to see clearer situation?
