Some people say it's because of SKype (since it's still in Preview) and as for me, I think it was caused by Facebook. I haven't had any reboots for the last 2 weeks (I had a total of 5 reboots for the last one month) and I guess it's probably due to the updates that I have installed (Extra +, Display +, Facebook etc etc). Try and uninstall Facebook and Skype and see how it goes. Reinstall them again and monitor as well.

thanks for the tips... i already uninstalled skype and monitoring it now but it surely did help me with my battery actually.. so its good.

however, i just had a problem with my headphone jack. it is kinda crackling badly and if i turn the plug around it becomes worst and at a part it may be good. anyone has this issue? i tried with another headphones (beats solo hd) and its the same. any idea guys?

I have uninstalled Skype and it seems the Phone doesn't get as warm as before and the battery drainage as shown by the graph in Battery Status with 3G always on is quite consistent (in Engineering Terms, the decline curve is quite stable). We'll see how it goes today.

i removed skype and it resolved my random reboot and battery drain issue. smile.gif Bye Skype.

I could last a day easily; wifi 1-2 hrs, 3-4hrs music, no 3G, calls and messages as usual, and by nite 10-11pm still have 40%+. I think 3G/4G is sucking the battery.  GPS will definitely suck the battery dry, same case for my previous phones.

On heat, my phone on gets hot while gaming, didnt use 3G so i cant say much about that.

mine so far running for 21 hours 55 minutes and still got 31%. twitter, foursq, fb, web surf, calls, whatsapp. ive changed to 2G network as i realised 3G drains battery like crazy.

Waaa.. We are the opposite. I want the red but only got black and yellow. Lucky yesterday someone didn't pick up his yellow Lumia, if not I would have bought the black.
I know right. But the fact that not many has bought, is the reason why not many developers is interested in this platform. Thanks to Lumia 920 and WP8 things is about the change. The more userbase the better.

I just browse to the store and the game section is quite good. Only thing is missing for me is the major app likr instagram, flipboard and google services.
Pretty sure it's normal for a phone to die for 6 to 8 hours of using 3G. My previous phone, the iPhone is quite the same, battery drains quite fast with 3G on.

The only phone that seems to be getting a pretty steady battery life this year is the Nexus 4, been hearing good things about it lately.
*
very true. i agree... but i need some time getting use to it as i moved from SIII which has way better battery life?

how to change to 2G?
*
QUOTE(Evirober @ Dec 26 2012, 12:57 PM)
Gonna try via 2G network now... = )

As for those whom asked how to change its in the settings : Mobile network

Cheers

Happy Christmas Box peeps
*
yes via Settings > Mobile Network > Highest Connection Speed.

However on my first try it does not show selectable option for it. Could be a bug. Only after changing Network Selection to Manual then Automatic back again, then you will get the option to select 2G/3G.

Happened on mine and @ashwin988 Lumia 920.

does it yield different result compare to just off the data connection?
*
for me it does. with 3G network, my battery drains alot and last about 8-9 hours a day. with only 2G network, my phone lasts more than 24hours. smile.gif

Smartphone without 3G and Data for me is considered a dumbphone instead...
*
no doubt. however, if one is on a wifi connection all the time, i dont see the point of having 3G enabled. like me, i have Unlimited 3G data but yet im mostly on Wifi at home and office as Maxis has its ups and downs. So using Edge for apps like whatsapp and FB seems to work fine and fast even for foursquare on this lumia 920. hence i changed to 2G and dont see any reasons to utilize 3G until Portico update is released to fix battery issues.

to add to your sentence, smartphone with 3G and Data but with extremely lousy battery is even dumber. smile.gif

2G also has data but slower. Guess its preferences on what needs to be used for. You can always switch it to 3G if you need to do something which needs high speed. No issues there. So no point judging and saying smartphone with no 3G and Data is a dumbphone.

I have screen flickering issue and headphone jack issue. Anyone has this problems? My screen flickes badly in the middle from top to bottom and its very visible with High Brightness. And i used any earphones and all of it has crackling sound and if the wire moves, it gets worst or no sound at all. tried with nokia headphones, sony headphones and beats. all the same. sad.gif

contacted Nokia and they ask me to go to service center for repair. so disappointed.

not even a week old yet.

My data and roaming is switched off; i dont think the phone will switch to the data for my case. I think the app running on screen will run (the wifi connection icon is there), but background ones wont. But for my case it's updating the apps i installed, not downloading anything.

I left the settings > wifi page on my screen, went to sleep. After a minute switch it back on and it's still connected. Unless the phone is quick enough to establish a connection that i didnt even notice the attempt to connect after i wake the phone up from sleep...

No such thing for mine, yours is defective i guess. I used my Sennheiser headphones and the included earphones and all of them worked without issues.
*
yeah confirm defective on mine. just want to know if there is anyone else here with same issue.

Based on Navifirm, the Portico update is already available for Vietnam and HK units and also Australia and New Zealand ... nothing on APAC MY units

Ahwwwww shit. I don't see the setting to email the chat history either but then again, I hate having to do backup that way. I like the way iOS does it, it saves the chat history as part of the application data that it backs up and when the app is restored, the application data is automatically associated with the app and then you have everything like it was before ....
*
press and hold on the contact chat and you will get option to email copy.

I have the same problem as yours. Not the headphone though. Didnt try that. But my screen is flickering badly. Do not let them repair. Ask for an exchange. I am going to get my exchange later. They wanted to repair but i met the territory manager and he called back and let them have mine exchanged

got mine replaced. however they gave me a UK set instead of a malaysian. And now i have vibration issue. Its like something is loose inside it. Will go again tomorrow to get this resolved. And wanna ask them why is the set given to me is not a malaysian set.
