At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself whether you really want this device, no need to argue which phones are the best out there, all the phones have their own perks to offer.

If you want a stable and fluid OS and wants a great low light performer camera then this could be your phone. wink.gif

Some other perks like stand out from the crowd, cloud, deeply integrated skype, great GPS/map app from Nokia. smile.gif

Nokia drive is a big pull. They better be quick though, Nexus 4 looking better and better everyday.

Here. But its not that impressive except for the low light pictures. SG3 is better in some pics and Lumia is better in some.

Saw that one too. From the photos so far, the camera isn't outstanding, but it's still very decent. I'm fine with this.

920 review from Know Your Mobile.

QUOTE
We can sum the Lumia 920’s camera up in a single word: stunning.
QUOTE
From a hardware perspective the Lumia 920 is an amazing piece of kit with undoubtedly the best camera on the market. While its use of the PureView name might not be the same as the Nokia 808, it’s an infinitely more usable setup for the average user and still delivers the goods.

Not only that, but the Windows Phone 8 platform is now far more compelling than Symbian, and is a significant improvement over Windows Phone 7.

It’s now more competitive with iOS and Android than ever before, with better multitasking, performance and customisation.

It is still hamstrung by an anaemic app selection, however. For some users this is naturally going to be off-putting, but in fairness we did generally find most core applications that we searched for.

hahaha sifu u are cute if he join samsung then make sense but suddenly announce he quit and suddenly change company that dont make sense. If he take a break then someone offer him yes then that make sense. Just imagine A working in company suddenly quit to join company B something weird right? Whatever reason the company giving.

Maybe he disagree with nokia direction and decided to accept a better offer possible too right?

You are cute too sifu.

Logically Nokia probably has planned to relocate for some time now and let their employees or key people know in advance about it. The reason is they would want to know the cost of relocation, and also to be fair to their employees. No companies would suddenly decide "Oi everyone we are changing office. Next week! To another country! And you all better come with us!"

My point is he surely knew about the relocation quite some time back and has planned to look for another job because it's not possible for him to follow Nokia. Now that he got another job waiting for him, he announced his resignation. Move on, nothing to see here.

sifu logically in business perspective you got played get it. How you twist left or right or support whoever you as a customer got cheated by getting late news because your action of purchasing product is from the research team that creates the technology is like apple now without steve jobs notice their direction now.

Anyway sifu you notice above its more like you copy paste from what he said then u retype it your way. In business perspective they need you but sadly they not paying you.

Like you said if he already planned or decided leaving he would able to share with people so your decision in buying the product get optimized just imagine if his heart is not in nokia anymore there always a probability the result of his research wont be at of his best so since the device is out you notice the imaging is average.

I know fanboys will flame me because i dont support it blindly but for your info i am a pureview fan but the 920 camera is bad real bad. Like u said no companies do that on a sudden so means they know it all along and the fool is the customers because the truth is hidden away and reveal suddenly.

Anyway my intention is not to create fanboyism but just sharing for discussion sake as a 3rd party because i am disappointed that pureview is come to an end from a great person like damien.
*
If anyone being a fanboy here, it's you sifu. Damien do not owe us any anything. He works, to earn money. Nothing more, nothing less. He doesn't need to tell us anything, certainly not about his future plan. The fact that you think he would share his or the company plans and all the happenings behind the scene suggests that you're actually a fanboy.

FYI, there is a whatsapp, the WP7 one is still compatible with it, but from last night's event, I was told that a WP8 specific whatsapp is in the making, supposedly it will have most the new features in WP8 integrated

That's awesome. Any time frame when they will release it?

Pre-ordered at Nokia shop...need to deposit RM200 though...i asked the shop if there's any freebies this time, and they said no...as for roadshows, nothing been confirmed yet...for those who pre-ordered they will call when the stock arrive...keeping my finger crossed it arrive earlier rather than later...limited stock for each color, that what I been told...also don't think grey is coming...

I went to nokia klcc just now. They didn't hv display unit but it will probably arrive this afternoon. They do hv dummy though and the nokia guy said it's the same exact weight n size. If that's true then the physical of 920 (weight, length, thickness, width) is NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. I think even using a casing with this phone won't be troublesome. Those reviewers who said it's too heavy n big are wuss!

I think Nokia is trying really really hard to penetrate the US market and therfeore, offered those freebies. The wireless chargers are not cheap, we are talking about RM200 for the charger itself.

It is worth it though. I bought one and you can't underestimate the ease for me to charge the phone. No more opening a drawer looking for the iPhone charger which obviously will be tangled with all other cables in the drawer, bending down under the side of the bed to plug in the charger and then charge the phone. After the phone is charge, bending down again to unplug the charger and then putting it in the drawer.

Now I go into the bedroom, put the phone on the wireless charger to get some quick juice and then when I want to leave the room, pick up the phone and I'm done.
*
So u leave your wireless charger switched on 24/7?

Yeap. It's on at the bedside table 24/7

Isn't that wasting electricity? The same as leaving a normal charger on, it will keep using electricity.

I went to gardens to look at the display 920 they have. The weight is ok la. Its heavier then all the current generation phones but nothing much to shout about. Go built some muscles la...

Anyway, she says yellow n red preorder sold out. They got limited amount allocated only. 8 each for yellow and red, 20 for black and 15 for white.

The black looks normal like any other black phone. The white looks nice. But surprisingly the yellow really caught my eye. The color is really really nice!! I never expect to be attracted to the yellow....
*
So total they only have 51 units. I hope that amount is only for Nokia gardens..
Btw it takes a real man to carry around a yellow phone. are you man enough? brows.gif

Tried whatsapp on the Lumia 920. Whatsapp on this phone is super buggy, slow in loading and slow in updating. Very sad. Didn't even detect my Contacts/Favourites on Wifi till I installed it a second time!
