No. Use the POP3 method where your gmail emails will be sync to your other emails.
This POP3 method is good for those who have multiple email.

I never used IMAP before but for POP3, you will receive the latest email like normal.
Lets say an email is sent to your gmail account, gmail will then forward that email to your outlook account in a second.
And yes you get push notification as well like normal.

You might think that way but developers support iOS and Android because it brings money to them.
So there are people who spends money on apps. I would say on iOS there are probably around 50% pirates or so.
And the other 50% bought their apps.
