Makes me wonder why we splashed that huge sum on Henderson when we have Suso in the academy.

Nice corner too from Sahin.

No doubt the fault is with Enrique but Carra too should've done better earlier that would've prevented that mess.

First half YB 1-2 LIV

Aside from enrique silly mistake, I think Liverpool played quite well especially suso, sahin and wisdom !!
*
Quite well in terms of possession yes but not at creating chances. Apart from the 2 goals, the only other chance we had was when Suso dribbled into the penalty area.

Is it just me or do you guys feel our attack somehow stops or breaks down when the ball reaches Downing. I can tell he is trying but I don't think he has the ability. For a winger with years of Premier League experience if you can't cause Young Boys' defense trouble you know you are really bad.

And Pacheco has been invisible so far.

can score with shit senior players still not happy?

some people i tell you...

It's not about the goals and the result, it's about the performance. We are still looking out of depth in the final third while Young Boys knows when to make forward runs and pick out the correct players.

Now that's what I'm talking about...an aimed weighted cross, not just whip the ball in blindly again and again.

3 conceded goals doesn't do Brad Jones any justice, he is playing pretty well today.

Don't know if its the system or training or players but we really need to stop leaking goals.

Looking at how Steve Bould changed Arsenal's defence, maybe we need that someone to instill some steel in our defence.

Anyway, good 3 points, top of the group!

QUOTE(hfi @ Sep 21 2012, 01:30 PM)
I thought they were very composed and tidy. Wisdom didn't look out place, a bit slow off the mark but he makes up by his good positioning and confidence on the ball. The midfield had no problems keeping possession, at times Young Boys were just chasing shadows. Suso puts on a typical Spanish display - superb close control and very good at keeping possession. He's a special player in the making. Sahin was quite good too - he's quite a silky footballer. Overall very tidy and didn't rush the play. Hendo was a beast - worked really hard, aggressive - played like a box to box midfielder. Brad Jones was okayish - i thought he was a bit slow to react to the header but otherwise quite dependable. Assaidi didn't impact the game so much but he was still a decent outlet. Borini and Jonjo came in and it changed the game.

Very true, will be hoping for more game time for the youngsters in the future. When Kelly first featured in the first team for us he too looked shaky but has gotten much better with more match experience. Suso and Wisdom's performance last night has clearly shown that they are ones we should keep hold of. Hopefully Pacheco gets another chance to shine, while he didn't impress at all, it should be taken into consideration that his best position is to play in the hole behind the main striker.

The senior players really need to step up their game, Reina, Skrtel, Carra, Gerrard, Enrique, Suarez hasn't been performing up to their usual standards this season.

Liverpool conditioning coach Darren Burgess is returning to his native Australia as Liverpool's backroom shake-up continues.

QUOTE
Burgess, who was brought to Anfield after working with Australia at the 2010 World Cup, is the third senior member of the club's medical team to leave this year.

Peter Brukner, Liverpool's head of sports science, went in April, while physio manager Phil Coles is also moving on as he prepares to join Australia rugby league club Newcastle Knights in November.

Burgess, who is likely to take up a job in Australian Rules football, decided to leave Anfield after new manager Brendan Rodgers brought in several backroom staff from his previous club Swansea.

"Brendan wanted to bring in some staff from Swansea, and Brendan has been fantastic, but my role has changed and it's not really worth living on the other side of the world for," Burgess told Fox Sports.

"It's tough, because I worked for 15 years to try to get into the EPL, it was my dream. But I leave thinking it's the right thing for my family."
