some battery question:
once i reach 20% or below, it starts to drain up super fast (like 3-5% an hour, screen off, idling).
Is this normal?

i've read a bit abt the battery protection for dropping to 0%

So basically below 20% it isnt so accurate?
Other times it seemed pretty efficient (with stock rom/kernel).

After finding out about Depth of Discharge, i usually charge everyday, even if it has 30 or 40% left.

no need so extreme la...

charging at 25%-50% battery left should be pretty good. Assuming that 1 day use 1 cycle.
if can get 1000 life cycles then its quite awesome, that's > 3 years!
It's time to get the new Nexus by then biggrin.gif

i will root my phone today probably.

I can follow springfall's guide on page 1 (changing to yakju and rooting) right?
But i only select 'root my phone' instead of '1 click for all', since i have alrdy unlocked bootloader and is on jelly bean 4.1.

Rooting doesnt wipe data like unlocking bootloader, am i right?

Thanks for the respond and i appreciate that.

I agreed with what you said "whatever iOS can do, android can do it beter". But I believe in term of stability, no one can match iOS so far. That says, being owner for 3gs for almost 4 years now. I only did update its iOS maybe 3 times overall, and I never reset my phone before. 3gs never disappointed me with crash alarm that cause late to job, or sudden missing of contact that make me lose my supplier number. and I heard that android have problem with the stability and in term of reliability. BUT that's the case where i heard with the gingerbread and before. After ICS, I believe everything is smooth. AND i see ppl like to flash this and that for custom ROM or 3rd party build of kernel. Nevertheless, iOS is for OLD PPL... and ANDROID is for ppl who like to advanture and seek for fun and risk.

Enough of the bull.s, as I am thinking of getting a budget phone, Nexus fall into my "taste" perfectly, except for the battery issue i heard of.

Other than that, anyone have any idea where to buy this phone? Any idea if DIGI still have stock with this?
*
telco companies should still have them. Nexus isnt the most popular contract-binded phones, as u might have guessed.

Other telco i see still offer nexus, at different prices.

Phone shops dono got stock or not. I got mine from them, good value @ 1220 (SME ori).

Gotta love the screen that looks like printed paper when using some google apps (people, calendar...)

Thanks all. that is very convincing. And Im not sure if i gonna get it with shop or just get it with telco with some contract binding. My tot is that since i need data for the smartphone, why not just having contract with digi. nothing wrong with that somemore phone is much cheaper.

If i buy at shop, i also have to get some data package as well.. lol

i'll look into DIGI when i have time tonight or maybe tomorrow morning. Might as well get a white one.. XD after that i can join the Nexus family here. hahaha... budget is my priority now. iphone 5 are just way too expensive for me to afford. salary for a degree student nowaday is low man....gosh.

but i not sure Digi is a good choice or not.
Next month im saying BB to Digi, the signal is God awful this second half of the year.

*white one Digi got offer? I wanted white but not available in Msia

if you have google music. just download google music installed in your pc, select your music folder and let it auto-upload. ur nexus google music app will auto-sync, you can make it offline playing or stream (in cache).

else, traditional way. just copy via usb cable or wireless file transfer.

google music can be used in malaysia?

If songs are cached in phone, does it take the same space as keeping the mp3 files in phone?

im still studying more about various ways to make backups and restoring, before going on some flash frenzy.

Most guides out there arent using gnex toolkit tho~

After i've used 1 click for all, CWM recovery is installed right?
