Latest stable Flash v11.1.115.17

QUOTE
Wanamlite V3.0RC3 jelly Bean using the latest firefox browser.

WORKS PERFECTLY this Flash v11.1.115.17

When i go to cnn to watch a video, first it will ask me to tap press to enable flash to play. This is good because it's a security measure so that flash doesn't auto load because flash is extremely popular amongst hackers to get your pc infected with malware/viruses.

But if you know the site is legit like cnn, you can press tap to confirm to play the flash on the site.

well it works so thats all i wanted to report

It isn't WanamLite custom rom but the Firefox browser itself that have Flash embedded in it. You can play website flash videos even if you're on stock rom or didn't use WanamLite rom. Just download the browser from Google Play market. whistling.gif
*
so your saying even without downloading the flash app that was removed from googleplay, the firefox already has flash in the mobile browser ?

what version hmm.gif

so since i install the flash player, how does that affect flash in firefox, seeing as your saying it comes with it's own hmm.gif

Added on September 3, 2012, 3:34 pmYou can unlock your Samsung Galaxy S3 using this GalaxSim unlock app.

QUOTE
[APP] GalaxSim Unlock 1.02, JB compatible
Back in business ! With an app to sim unlock your GS3 (to use any other network operator).

A little background first. I bought my gs3 2 monthes ago. It was sim locked, but I didn't care as I read there was an app to unlock it. Unfortunately, what I didn't know at that time is that this method was not behaving the same way as official sim unlock method. And as you might know, a few weeks ago, starting from LG6 rom, Samsung added checks to prevent unofficial lock methods, that would relock your device upon each reboot. So I took my favorite decompiler and started looking for a workaround. And here it is : "GalaxSim Unlock".

Now I won't lie to you. I won't tell you it will unlock your phone forever, as I can't say for sure. I won't enter into technical details, but this app doesn't make all the changes made with buying an official unlock code (at least, not yet). Why ? Because I honestly don't know what those changes are. So Samsung might add some checks in future roms that could probably relock the phone. Or they won't.
One thing for sure : as of now, this app does more than any other manual or automatic methods available, so your device won't relock with any currently available roms (post lg6, Jb leaks...).
So apart from buying an official code, that's probably your best chance to unlock your gs3 for now.

*** FAQ ***
This app will :
unlock/unbrand your phone the best as my current knowledge permits to. Which is sufficient to run any currently available roms (including JB).
work on any existing rooted rom
support international galaxy s3 i9300, I can't tell for sure for Us versions, please tell me whether it worked or not (and provide a logcat / efs backup by pm)
work if you previously unlocked your device with "voodoo unlock" or "galaxy s unlock"
work if you installed a previous ril (aka mike's patch).
warn you if you're using other dangerous methods
warn you if your imei has been lost due to any error in nv_data caused by a third party app.
give you detailed information about current locks status (be it locked, unlocked or "partially locked", ie unlocked with methods not compatible with newer roms)
backup efs before modifying anything (that should guarantee you a safe use)
enable you to restore your efs backup if you want to.
be updated when needed (I need it as much as you )
compute md5 files properly (no log hack)
support more galaxy devices soon

This app won't :
Restore your previously lost efs/nv_data/imei or any other magical stuff.
Support non samsung phones

*** How to use ***
Prerequisites :
Rooted rom
Busybox (found on the market and already present in many custom roms)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846451

Apparently i didn't need it since mine says "your device is unlocked"

Dear Lyn Forumers,

Would like to seek some assistance regarding the s3 phone.
I bought the s3 phone in msia now using in aus using aus telco microsim card.

I can make and receive calls. Wifi also ok. However I cannot seem to access the internet via the mobile data. Is this due to the different baseband issue? Please advise if there's a workaround solution to this. Thanks.

i believe you need to setup the APN and MMS in the samsung S3 settings.

Add the one for the australian carrier your using. This is a list of australian APN and MMS.

i like photography but sadly i'm too poor. I had a nikon coolpix 4mp prior to getting my Samsung Galaxy S3 cry.gif

Anyways, i'm pretty happy with the S3 video and camera abilities. It's not perfect but it's at the level where i wouldn't be ashamed of the quality nod.gif

I want to use that cam mod to increase the bit rate, but i don't think it supports Jb at this time. I already asked hyper when he is going to add jb support hmm.gif

for pictures i've tested with Samsung Stock, Zoom FX, and Pro Capture.

For video, only samsung stock and zoom fx.

Pro capture probably has the best clean pictures taken. However i wish they had a better way to zoom in/out rather then having to use the physical audio buttons for that.

I also tested the panorama feature. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the end result was very close to perfect.

I also strongly recommend using perfectly clear android app to do the post processing of the pictures. It greatly improves the quality to an extent but over all there is improvement.

noise is very high when ISO is >800... this is bcz.. most of the phones wont go higher than ISO 800. S3 has a max ISO of 1600 in Auto settings.. when things get really dark, then it will pump the ISO above 800 and that's where the noise comes out.

in Auto settings, the maximum shutter speed is only 1/17 to avoid handshake i guess. Hence, if u wanna take a less noise low light camera, u can either try HDR, or u can use night mode.

in night mode, max ISO is 800 while the max shutter speed is 0.5sec.. which is 3 stops of light in advantage at the same ISO. 3 stops of lights means a lot of difference. but be careful of handshake.
*
good tips.

so is it correct to say in dark/night situations, it's better to disable auto mode ? hmm.gif

Hey guys, I just had a very strange problem with my S3 today.

For some reason, the battery was going down really really fast even though I wasn't even using it.
I checked the apps that were running, but there was nothing that was running.
Even in the battery stats, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

I left for school at 6am and left my phone in my room fully charged at 100%.

Then around 2.30pm i came home and my phone was left with 28%.

I checked the battery stats at this point but nothing seemed weird.

I rebooted the phone but the battery was still draining at a rate of 1% every 4 minutes.

I'm very sure that I did not leave mobile data, bluetooth, NFC, or wifi on while i was away.

I'm also very sure that i did not leave any apps running in the background.

user posted image

After getting worried, I decided to turn the phone off and reinsert the battery. This seemed to solve the problem.

This has never happened to me before.

I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this before or has any idea what went wrong  rclxub.gif
*
use betterbatterystats to find out whats happening. It's free to download on XDA (XDA members edition)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

charge your phone to 99, then unplug it from the usb. then don't touch your phone. just leave it be for 4-8 hours.

Then come back turn on phone and immediately check the betterbatterystats and see what it shows since unplugged in terms of

- wakelocks
- partial wake locks
- cpu state (how long was the deep sleep duration ? and was there lots of cpu usage going on or not ?)

i can't recommend usingWanamLite Jelly bean XXDLI1 V3.0 Android 4.1.1 :/ specifically. Has lots of FCs more so compared to all the other leaks thus far. Lots of the apps when i run it usually frozen and hung. This is unacceptable to the point you can barely use the phone apps without it bonking out too frequently shakehead.gif

i'm reverting back to the RC4 which seems to be the most stable of the jelly bean leaks so far. It's far from perfect but at least it's faults are way more tolerable than the other jelly bean leaks i've seen so far flex.gif

i was trying to figure out whats taking up my internal memory and saw these:
/sdcard/.thumbnails (474MB)
/sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails (1.3GB)

Does anyone have these high amount of GB used for thumbnails? I am not even sure if they are duplicates.

I am using x-plore as my file explorer. Not sure if they are created by it or other programmes. Do you think its safe to delete them?
The most sure way is to factory reset using this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...84&postcount=15

Boot into recovery CWM, and clear cache and dalvik. Then flash your desired rom.

All traces of junk files will be gone.

You then boot up the phone, use titanium backup to restore Applications only (go through the list and only restore the ones you still consider is useful to you).

then your done :}

For regular maintenance, just use an app like 1tap clear cache usually does the trick.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...e=search_result

For more advanced users there is SD Maid Pro. However unlike CCleaner on the Desktop, it doesn't safely select junk files. You need to select your self, which can be hard to identify for newbs. I only use SD Maid Pro to uninstall apps, and check which is the biggest files on my device in ascending order.

Thats my tip for keeping your S3 nice and clean nod.gif

Before factory reset, always backup via titanium backup. Because titanium is only backing up applications only, make sure you sync important files like pictures/music/videos or other important files to your dropbox. also sync titanium backup apps to dropbox as well, because when you factory reset, they will be gone from your phone as well.

Easiest way to recover your titanium backup apps, is to use airdroid to transfer it back to the titanium backup folder on your phone, after you have done the factory reset.

Moogle Stiltzkin, excellent advice. Will do as you advised tonight.

thumbup.gif
*
i've had tons of practice factory reseting, installing new roms, backing up with titanium backup, using airdroid, dropbox, google authenticator, google 2 step authentication ....

so glad my knowledge and experience helped someone out nod.gif

Also just to clarify,

do not rely too much on factory reset as a regular solution to maintaining the performance of your phone. Only use that method when you are not sure how to clean some junk files your your android phone, even after doing the normal clear cache.

clear cache is the usual method to clean up junk from your phone which i normally do once every week.

I forgot to mention that, i also use DB Optimizer which is a feature in SD Maid Pro. Supposedly this optimizes the db to improve the speed on your android after getting cluttered after a while nod.gif

In 2 hours of usage yesterday night Wanam V3.0 hung 2 times while using built-in internet browser & Facebook respectively. Flashed Omega V19 XXDLI1 this morning 2 hrs ago, so far having facing any issue yet like Wanam V3.0, will see how it goes.
*
So basically your saying this XXDLI1 issue could only be wanamlite specific ? other rom not affected ?

Well i read wanam's comment, he reckons that it isn't a problem with his rom, as the same instability is going on the stock deodex S3 jelly bean XXDLI1 rom as well.

This is why i didn't bother to test on another rom developers XXDLI1, because i thought it would be the same.

By the way someone posted a youtube video of the wanamlite XXDLI1

When i try open some apps, it will usually freeze/hang

Keep in mind i am not using pirated apps, also these apps worked perfectly fine on jelly bean prior to this new release. But situation turned around for the worse on WanamLite Jelly bean XXDLI1 V3.0 Android 4.1.1, which has lots of frequent crash/freeze/hang when opening apps o.O;

I didn't take any shortcuts. I made sure i factory reset, clear cache, clear dalvik, before migrating from RC3 to that newer rom.

Anyway i can hardly recommend it, it's probably the most buggiest of all the jelly bean leaks thus far.

I've since reverted to GT-I9300_WanamLite.XXDLH8.V3.0.RC4.NO-WIPE which is rock steady. I can open all my apps without any crash/freeze/hanging whatsoever.

I'm sticking with this until jb officially comes out. You can download RC4 from here
