normally we just coat / wax... Skip polish but once awhile will polish also.

to remove the contamination that canot be remove during wash.

after u wash your car, u use your hand to feel the surface smooth or not... if rough, need clay.

the pic i took after i clayed my 1 year old car,

left is used, right is new,

I did feel a bit rough though. I thought is because of the swirling marks. hmm.gif any clay will do? Yours I saw like the one I used to play with.

Speaking of rim, Alloy rim can last for heavy bump or potholes? Felt like wanna change rim but scared it bend easily
