GT650M is pretty close to the performance of the GTX660m already...
If the driver works, it is highly possible that GT655m SLI would be better (if that those are the official GPUs for the Y500) |

QUOTE(destroyer @ Nov 21 2012, 02:00 PM) chat with lenovo malaysia on FB. they don't have any information regarding the availability of this model in malaysia YET. however they do mention that some reseller already imported the item from overseas thus making it available on local market. Nice description! more waiting time for me i guess... damn it lenovo. at least release it to the pc magazine/online for people to review it first. the feeling of waiting is like able to watch waifu but unable to touch her for 6month. There are reviews on the unit already right? Hope it comes soon~ I'd like to see how that ultrabay works |

QUOTE(Amal @ Nov 22 2012, 08:18 PM) Both. Good one there bro Where can you get a laptop with a performance of a GT675M(looking at the 3DMark11 results) that cost only RM3799? That's about RM800 differences, which is only 27% more expensive for an increased of 70 to 80 percent gaming performance. Some more, that price were told to include extra 170w adapter. Most importantly is that you don't have to sacrifice the weight when you want to take it out outside to work or school by taking out the extra GPU and use back the default 120w adapter(same as the Y580). They both(Y580 vs Y500) weight about the same on stock(without the extra GPU). I would recommend those looking for a cheap gaming laptop to wait for the release. Also, if possible, wait until there's a review of it, just to make sure there's no issue with this laptop. |

The values for the GPU score is pretty good yo |

QUOTE(myotgo @ Nov 27 2012, 09:54 AM) nfsw test with frap fps runnig on 1920x1080 U3 should be better for the Y500, just place the fans under vents sli gt 650M 2012-11-27 09:37:08 - NFS13 Frames: 108 - Time: 5766ms - Avg: 18.730 - Min: 14 - Max: 21 i can't upload the the image bcoz too large 3.07mb u2 enough ma ,ok thanks, but where the wire ventilation area on it? 8gb i think minimum if u want to play game i have 12gb ram guys!!i need ur opinion on idle test with speedfan gpu : 39-41c hd0 : 39-42c core 0 : 49-54c core 1 : 40-50c core 2 : 40-50c core 3 : 40-50c gpu : 39-42c is it ok o not? You don't really need 8GB for games Try using OpenHardwareMonitor or HWMonitor to monitor the temps, these programs are more accurate than SpeedFan Added on November 27, 2012, 10:25 am QUOTE(ringoapple7 @ Nov 26 2012, 11:58 PM) is 4 gig ram is enough for gaming? and also if you're doing daily use like opening multiple tabs in windows 8? or better upgrade it to 8? or 16? 4GB is more than enough. If you really have a lot of money to spare, then upgrade to 8GB This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Nov 27 2012, 10:25 AM |

QUOTE(Jabberwocky @ Nov 27 2012, 03:12 PM) I only have 4Gig but gaming experience for me its the best so far, it meets my requirement therefore I won't upgrade to 8Gig. Too be honest I prefer the overall feeling of the y500 than playing on my friend's Razer Blade, call me weird but its true. Good to know that you are enjoying your notebook man~My palm doesn't feel much heat (Blade have a focus heat spot, which annoys me) and jumping from keys to keys is pretty at ease (hardly pushed the wrong key) I brought my machine to chill out at a nearby Starbucks, last about 2 hrs 45 mins with continuous gaming (DOTA2, GW2 in max setting, battery 'high performance' profile. and 1 more thing, it make head turns! And thanks for the reviews |

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Nov 27 2012, 11:00 PM) Since Y500 utilise ultrabay, it means owner could easily buy a ultrabay Bluray from Lenovo and swap in later when you have more money No way I'm going to spend the money on a Blu-ray ultrabay Added on November 28, 2012, 12:06 am QUOTE(Jabberwocky @ Nov 27 2012, 11:05 PM) I will still pick the y500. I feel you bro, I've always believed that Lenovo laptops have the best island style keyboard buttons Although both y500 and mac keyboards looks the same, the reason is because y500 keys are curved into the middle (if you look carefully at the pics) that fits in perfectly to your fingers during compression while mac keys are flat so it kinda feel a bit rigid and dull. Nvm la bro, what's done is done...
Next time do more research before proceeding lo.. Its the same for all notebooks with OS, there will always be a recovery partition, if you delete or alter it, of course it will no longer work |

Anybody agrees that the new Z400 lineups are pretty bad@ss?
I'm very impressed with what Lenovo has got to offer for that price, especially the non-touch screen one... I guess my biggest complaints is the chocolate color LOL, bad taste! |
