Hi there! proud owner of Y500 here :3

can anyone guide me on how to format this laptop and installing it on a new SSD?

because i dont have a copy of windows 8 single language
*
First of all, please make a recovery disk using the One Key Recovery.

Also, as a fail-safe proof, make also an image of your current hard disk using the Paragon Backup for Windows 8.

http://www.paragon-software.com/technologi...8/download.html

Then, only you can restore at ur new SSD.

is there no official copy of windows 8 single language? so that whenever i format i just use that and update it to automatically update my win 8?
*
Yup, there is no official copy of windows 8 single language.

that's why you have to make your own backup using the one key recovery.

nfsw 2012...

very smooth in y500 sli.....or....fair?

need comment.....

want to get either alienware or y500

I would say quite smooth and definitely playable.

Y500 can utilise SLI....

aliewanre 14x is using single 650.
