hey guys, since i am a little bit free so allow me to take some time explain about the super amoled screen which is a hot topic on note 2 thread i believe..here we go..
the first samsung super amoled = super amoled using by s1 which is pentile arrangement ![]() 2nd gen super amoled = super amoled plus s2 (RGB) ![]() 3rd gen super amoled = HD super amoled note, s3, nexus (pentile) compare with 1st and 2nd gen super amoled under same dimension it allow more subpixel put into screen due to resolution upgrade to HD (720p). theoretically the screen should be more fine with more subpixel.. ![]() 4th gen super amoled = HD super amoled (plus???) note 2 ![]() HD resolution so more "complete" pixel can put inside a screen..and look properly the arrangement is totally different with 3rd gen which is using pentile.. ![]() here is another pic.. what we can see is the blue color is actually ONE only..so basically it almost same with the 2nd gen super amoled which 3 color (red, blue, green) combine together to form a complete pixel..i would say this is special form of RGB invented by samsung..they double up the blue color to overcome the low light performance on blue color itself.. correct me if i am wrong..thx and have a nice day!! QUOTE(ezmeer94 @ Sep 1 2012, 11:29 PM) By using this new method, is the reliability of the screen been reduced?Remember last time Samsung die die defended the s3 pentile matrix? Now it seems the story is different? LOL QUOTE Samsung’s Galaxy S3 has only been official for just over a week and is yet to see the light of day in any part of the world, but has already provoked more controversy and passion than probably any other Android-based smartphone in history. It’s practically impossible to find someone interested in technology who doesn’t have a strong opinion on Sammy’s new flagship phone, with feelings ranging from disappointment and anger to excitement and enthusiasm. The Galaxy S3’s detractors voiced their discontent with the phone’s design first and foremost. But there have been a lot of voices that expressed concern over the use of a PenTile subpixel layout for the new Super AMOLED display. Samsung’s officials have defended the phone’s design from the get-go, calling it revolutionary and innovative, but up until now they have kept quiet about the Pentile screen “issue”. However, in an exclusive talk with the guys at MobileBurn, Sammy officials have finally weighed in on the PenTile vs RGB debate. Moreover, they offered what seems like a very plausible explanation for the use of the PenTile pixel layout. Before getting into the subject, let’s quickly talk about PenTile and RGB and explain in a few words the two technologies. RGB means “red green blue” and is generally used to refer to the sub-pixel matrix used in a display that sees three individual sub-pixels (one red, one green, one blue) making up a complete pixel. The red, green, and blue sub-pixels exist as vertical bars, each one measuring a third of the width of the full pixel. In contrast, the PenTile matrix uses five sub-pixels in a different formation. They can act as a part of numerous logical pixels, and they often contain pure white sub-pixels. PenTile displays are perceived as brighter than RGB screens, but many display purists consider them fuzzier and overall inferior to the classic RGB. Now that we’ve explained how things should be in theory with PenTile and RGB, let’s hear what Sammy has to say. According to Philip Berne, from Samsung America, the choice of PenTile was made with durability and reliability in mind. According to the Samsung official, AMOLED displays that use RGB layouts have a tendency to degrade faster, due to the green subpixels being for some reason more “fragile”. However, the PenTile matrix used for the manufacturing of the S3 display arranges the subpixels in a RGBG layout (red, green, blue, green). Thus, there are more green subpixels than red or blue, and so the display will have a longer lifespan than a classic RGB. http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-ga...reliable-84716/ |

QUOTE(KuLi @ Sep 1 2012, 06:22 PM) still have not decided whether to buy or not. its been playing on my mind. Don't be two-faced pls you ifag. You just hate Samsung, and you're so happy that Samsung lost in the verdict. Go back worship your Apple (copycat company too) like how they ripped off notification bar from Android.on one hand, i will still like to give android/samsung a chance to impress me but on the other hand, the specs are quite a bit dissapointing. why can't they wait just a little longer so they can give a better specs note upgrade a) True Super Amoled Plus HD (still not convinced abt the rgbb thingy) b) A15 quad-core c) better design (don't understand why must they follow s3 unless its much cheaper to do so) QUOTE(KuLi @ Aug 31 2012, 07:41 PM) its not so serious actually. just a selected die-hard geeks n nerds who are just jeles of apple iphone's immense success. and after being proven in a court of law that samsung is a thief and copycat, they get even more butt-hurt. Steve talks cocks too, but I still owned an iPad2 and iPhone 4S. Possibly Samsung won't even use the Plus branding again so that we don't give negative comments when it's not rgb again for S4.
