PipuPipu:

Do not worry about the vet part, I have asked pets wonderland before, they said in Subang have provide vaccine for ferrets.

Oh ya, I have one of this little creature. I did post my little girl wub.gif picture in "Your Pets Picture".

If you know how to read chinese word, I recommend this website to you. Is a Taiwan website. A lot of ferrets owner in there. U can ask their experience in there and have a lot of ferret's pictures.

http://ferret.daxp.com/

P/S: Do not buy those ferret food that provided in malaysia pet store...It is not good for ferret....even cat food (for certain brand) is better than these ferret food. vmad.gif

Tonite I will post the website that show which brand of cat food is good for ferret health.

Oh ya, about the smell.......be frankly, It really have one smell if u get ur nose close to it (I mean CLOSE TO IT). It just like other pets, every pets have their own smell. Unless you hit/frighten him/her....(I assume as a pet owner, you won't hit or frighten ur pet).....

If you get one of them, u sure will love them....they r too cute.....

OH, now that is interesting. Do provide more info as I only get info from the internet and my friend who had those intact with their scent glands so he said they were smelly. I know Pets Wonderland petshop sold imported ones with their scent glands removed.

It would be good to post some pictures and articles to educate those that aren't familiar to the pet. thumbup.gif

My little girl was get from pets wonderland so I think that's y my girl has no those smell that you all mentioned. About the vet that I mentioned in few previous post, I'm not yet go for the vet but this is what pets wonderland told me. Hope they not lie to me wink.gif .

Sorry, I have lose the ferret food website....But I'm giving IAMS and another cat food brand (I forgot the name) for my ferret. Yup, mix these 2 together. Remeber, ferret needs a time to get used on what he/she eats so you cannot change his/her food to another brand totally, but chnage slowly.

Ahhhh... no wonder no smell. That is good.

So far the vets near my area don't know and don't have ferret vaccination.... maybe Subang got since some vets there treat rabbits now.

How old is your ferret?

Have you tried Royal Canin brand of catfood? It is better than Iams.
*
she is one year old now....I just buang the cat food packet to dustbin....so can't remember the brand's name. But I can recognize it if I look at the packet again. Since our malaysia pet store does not provide ferret food, so mixed 2 cat food is better for ferret. This is recommend from some website and the taiwan website.

Get kitten food for ferret....dun get adult cat food...unless your ferret is too old....

Nice ferret. How much(RM) do you buy it?
*
I bought it rm780, plan to get another one in future.

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Feb 27 2006, 11:12 PM)
Yah, they need high protein. Same as hedgehog. I feed  my hegdehog cat and kitten food.

For high protein should try Inova EVO. It is holistic has no corn preservatives and is like the only catfood with the highest protein(49%).

Now quite hard to find Ferrets. The last one I saw for sale was a young male that was not descented, was RM600 or RM500....
*
yup, I know they need high protein and no corn preservatives....tat's y the kitten food I choose was recommend from website. About Inova EVO, I might try on it but need to change my girl's taste slowly....

She whole day activity is like this, sleep few hours -> wake up and walk around few hours -> sleep again -> wake up and walk/play -> repeat this routine....

I will get a machine gun ready brows.gif

Last time, I was on heat of getting ferret. They are so adorable and wonderful. The problem is I don't have time, place and money. So at the end, I didn't manage to get any. I always admire those ppl can keep ferrets. skevelim, how lucky of you that you are able to get 1. Now my only wish is I can get my own place and have this little playful guy around me  drool.gif

skevelim, how's your ferret? She much be very playful hehe... oh ya, it is kind of hard to find male ferret in M'sia. Bcoz they only import female ferret. Male ferret is kind of hard to sell in the market bcoz of their size and heat season. The male ferret is quite hot, I wander why...
*
about male ferret ah....I don't think is very hard to find it...at least on last september, I saw few male ferrets in pets wonderland b4. I more prefer female pets....I have hamsters, dogs and ferrets...all are female. Just I do not like male behavior, except the first male dog I had.

For you extra info, laugh.gif i dont "heard" them, i read them in the net. Guide to take care of a ferret.
Probably if you gave them enough attention they wont bite your cushion. If you dont ... LOL !! All your cushions will be full of holes.
If my girlfriend is not around, most of the time my girl will be outside the cage even I sleep at night.....from last september until now, she does not bite my soft things even I let it run around my room without my eye on him.

QUOTE(SeeD @ Mar 1 2006, 07:04 PM)
Yeah i also heard they love to hide inside holes. Before you sit on a cushion, take a good look before you sit down. Because you never know when you will sit on your cute ferret. These are all informations from the internet.
*
I agree on this.....He like to hide somewhere around....But usually I know where she hides. tongue.gif

I just saw a old pet shop in china town sell ferret, totally 3 of them. They're sleeping when I visit. What catch my attention is the PRICE and a pure white ferret. The price quote there is RM900!!
*
China town?? Where is it? Sorry not really familiar with KL area. Do you mean the pure white ferret is cost rm900 or each of them cost rm900?
