Samsung will unveil a 4.8-inch Windows Phone 8 device, according to sources familiar with the company's plans. The large screen Windows Phone will be named the ATIV S, as part of a new branding effort by Samsung for its Microsoft-powered hardware. It will include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED Display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and 1.9-megapixel forward facing camera. We're hearing that Samsung may be one of the first, if not the first to announce a Windows Phone 8 device, and may be preparing to launch the device at this year's IFA 2012. We'll be live blogging Samsung's Unpacked event, so stay tuned for a likely launch later today. Added on August 30, 2012, 12:17 am Samsung is preparing to launch a 10.1-inch Windows RT-powered ATIV Tab as part of the company's Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 announcements. Sources familiar with the company's plans have revealed that the ATIV Tab will measure just 8.9mm thick and weigh 570g. It will also feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with a 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.9-megapixel forward facing camera. Designed to launch as part of Samsung's ATIV Microsoft-powered hardware brand, Samsung's ATIV Tab includes a USB and uHDMI port. Office Home and Student 2013 will be packed as part of the Windows RT operating system available on the tablet, which we have previously revealed will be a preview version until Office 2013 is formally launched next year. Our sources believe Samsung may introduce its ATIV Tab at IFA 2012 this week. This post has been edited by xSean: Aug 30 2012, 01:38 AM

remove the "?". it is the first ever WP8 device launched. http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57502591-...phone-8-device/ATiV is VITA spelt backward. Vita means Life in Latin. This post has been edited by g5sim: Aug 30 2012, 09:48 AM

QUOTE(xSean @ Aug 30 2012, 03:16 AM) sony did not show wp8 device....i think they die die also don't want support wp8 coz xbox live....but they do show windows 7 device cuz they are living in the stone age. read their second quarter financial reports and you will know why Sony share holders should fire the board of directors and CEO! QUOTE(xcen @ Aug 30 2012, 03:42 AM) Looks better than GS3 IMO.. but Nokia will definitely beat it in the design department... just gotta wait for a few more days. it looks much more premium than S3. S3 looks plasticky. THis one looks like its built of metal all round!
