so some guy at NBR forums got his hands on a pre-production sample, here are some of the findings:
1. hints of release in November
2. 3dMark11 & PcMark07 for 2 hours = CPU @ 85C, GPU @ 75C
3. during this time the palmrest and keys are cool, while the area above the keyboard. the bottom and cooling grill gets unbearably hot
4. keyboard feeling is close to N56, travel is alright, Numpad & arrow keys are a bit cramped
5. trackpad seems a bit jumpy, like on the UX31A
6. has mini-VGA & full size HDMI
7. has Raid 0 with 2x 128gb SSD, TRIM works
8. comes with optical drive, BR may be option
9. 90W adapter, 74Wh battery, lasted around 3~3.5hrs, BatteryBar shows 20mAh per hour
10. about 2kg
11. screen somewhat between glossy/matte, like other Zenbooks, same display as Envy 15 & Vaio S15, but minus the red/orange issues, bleeding not a problem, sample
#1 #2 #3 U500 on lower left, X220 on lower right
12. fans are running all time, but are barely audible in quiet room with idle/basic task
13. wireless performance consistent and on par with X220
14. might come with sleeve in final unit
and here's the hands on
