Wow Diaby was immense today. I never liked him and still don't think he's good enough but a few more like today consistently and I'll be a fan. Liverpool's midfield afforded him lots of space at times though.

The passing between Poldi and Cazrola is simply godlike... and even Gervinho is great today. Maybe we should play him as a false nine every match!

The exchanges between Santi and Poldi were salivating stuff! and Poldi is quote a brute isn't he? Not one to be intimidated by bigger players around him, he's got some impressive strength and even Stoke rugby players will think twice before going in with him. Santi is unbelievable. How is he not in the first Spain first XI?! Every one of his passes is precise and with pace, and he almost always makes the right pass to the right person. What a player.

Gervinho as a false 9 worked brilliantly- he was so mobile in the first half that none of the Soton players knew what to do. Loved his mad dash for his first goal, and of course Arteta's lovely ball over the top.
