how to open 1433 MS SQL port?
my problem is like this. i can no connect my SQL server, i had check my sql service are runing but the 1433 port are no lisetning pls help

where are u connecting sql server from?

if from a program, how do u connect to the db? odbc? or direct communication (i.e. ADO, DAO, etc.)?

You can use the "client connectivity" on the server and client to set the port. In the enterprise manager, you can set the server properties and its network protocol.

is it does manter if the 1433 or 1434 port are open or not ?

even i use telent to my sql server with 1433 it dispaly can no connect the host
