noob on Saga BLM wanna ask something:

I want to DIY the ATF replacement for my wife's BLM, so here are some questions:
(1) How much ATF needed?
(2) Where is the drain plug for the gearbox (I haven't take a look at the underside of the car - yet)
(3) Where to pour in the new ATF? Is it through the ATF dipstick hole?
(4) How to properly check the ATF level?

regards,
Neotoxin

1) IINM ~3liters. however thats based on generic proton gear boxes, may be different for BLM
2) should be at the GB oil sump smile.gif
3) yes, and you will need a extended funnel, one with a long tube, as you typically can't fit the funnel at the GB opening
4) you need 2 person, 1 more to engage the gear while engine on etc, then check for it. there's also hot/cold levels where i am not versed at that yet. i typically leave it up to my mechanic sweat.gif

Thank you for your reply. For no. (3) I think there's enough space to put the funnel without extension tube (actually I have this custom-made extended funnel made from mineral water bottle and flexible pipe for changing GB oil of my Wira biggrin.gif ). I need to research more on no. 4... thank you

the position of the GB oil sump is not as convenient as other auto car
the position is at the left side ...near the tyre there
but its quite deep inside and something is there blocking the way
thats why i prefer u to do it outside at workshop, their jack is better, make it slighly easier to reach, normal jack is abit hard
and its gonna be messy, i've seen mechanic did to mine, since something is blocking the way, it causes it to spill everywhere

its about 4.9 liters if you drain and fill. don too rely on the dip stick indicator, if u feel jerk after fill, refill slightly more.

Thanks for all replies.. I did my ATF change last week.

To sum it up
1) Drain screw size is 24mm. Need a socket wrench for this (I was using the ratcheting type)
Attached Image
2) The drain screw is located at inconvenience place - just above the lower arm on the left side (@MR_alien did mention about this). Without proper guttering, the old ATF will spill all over the place.
Attached Image
I improvised a plastic bottle as a gutter
Attached Image Attached Image
3) Almost 5 litres (5 bottles) of SPIII ATF needed for replacement (mentioned by @erictioh). 4.5 bottles of ATF just barely above the HOT mark at 'N'. Refilling ATF is easy - just need to put funnel and pour the ATF in (no need extended funnel)
