Thanks all for the replies. I've some ideas on what's happening though. I guess overall not the lens issue. It's a learning curve for me to improve my skills

Yes you're right. I'm coming from D300 and the sharpness setting is at 7 while the D600 is defaulted at 3. Thanks for the highlight.

I guess this is something that I need to readjust, my skills. 2.8f on crop sensor def a lot less compare to what I have come to now with FF.

It looks fine to me when viewing as a whole pictures. When pixel peeping that get me worried. Maybe because I've seen too many test shot on tripod.
