Morning lads,

A little background info about myself: I have been working for almost 3 years now in a shipping company. Always wanted to enter OnG industry but the opportunity presented itself in awkward situation, hence i passed it.

Anyway, last week i received an offer in a little known oil & gas company. Naturally, I was pleased. But the snag comes when they offered me the position of Trainee Engineer, citing my lack of experience in their field.

That means I would have to take a pay cut (and my pay getting reset back to the level it was when I first started working), and with my experience of 3 years not reflecting on my salary. Should I be expecting more? Or is this the maximum offer I can get, even elsewhere? And yes, i have submitted my resume to several other company in the oil & gas field but let's just say the respond has been lukewarm so far.

Thanks & Regards
