Well，if you're good in academic plus excellent interview skill- that means good in selling yourself. It's companies who are after you.

I guess it depends from which department you're in. Production department 7.5 months make sense. Design Department, maybe. Finance department, dun think so.

Few stories from my colleagues regarding pay back loan:

Assumptions: If you have $$ issues.
1. Took Bank loan and pay lump sum.(provided they got a placement in Baker, SLB, Shell,EM etc)
2. Break the bond by installment (Budi Bicara).
2. Honored the 10 yr bond.

If you're Pet + FAMA scholar, i guess there wont be an issue.

Again, back to the individual edu background and career options availability question.hypothetically, there are a few pet scholar categories:
1. UTP
2. Overseas graduate (US/UK/IVY leagues etc)
3. Local Private universities

Putting yourself in their shoes, they actually stand better chance to have better options other than PET. just my 2 cents. PPL always want better job, better life. you're welcome to discuss. honored the bond or not, that's up to individual choice.

Years ago, I attended the 'ässessment day' of petronas scholarship. Their staff clearly stated it is a study loan & BOND during the opening remarks. I walked away because i felt deceived. Ended up in one of the top public engineering sch in malaysia, graduated with first class honors, it took me 18 months to land a job in OnG. If i were given second chance to go back to that moment, i would've chosen the same path. Out of so many scholarships out there for grabs, i'm surprised to see there are huge amounts of people took the STUDY LOAN and whine later. Petronas is a business entity, they invested in human development, they want return. There's no free lunch in this world.

yup, non OnG related industries. applied to numerous OnG players, only few replied. That was the dark time of my life. I attended big players interview, fell hard on ground. From interview to interview, i learned from the mistakes. I always remember those dark days where i have to buy Star Newspapers every saturday, hunting for jobs. Now i'm a man with yellow coverall.
