Hey guys, I am Thiri. I am new here, and this is my first time posting on this thread. I am a civil engineering graduate and I have secured an interview with Aker Engineering. I would like to enquire on what to expect for the interview? what do i prepare for? i have applied for a graduate engineer position, n i understand that aker engineering is a consultancy firm... how is the working lifestyle in aker engineering? good place to start? i hope some of urll would be able to help me... thank you..

According to a friend who's working there, Aker Eng. doesn't have new major projects coming in, at only some ongoing projects that coming to an end. Maybe early next year. Currently the environment is quite relaxed but once new projects are awarded, just be prepared to work long hours or maybe weekends tongue.gif .

I met Mr. Rosli once (Structural HOD) during a seminar. Nice chap. Normally interview for grad eng is not that difficult. Show your enthusiasm, be yourself and don't lie. You'll be fine.

The office will be at Pavilion Tower. You'll find yourself going back home late as you would normally roam at nearby shopping complexes after work. Can do other things during weekends tongue.gif

The most recent fatality i heard of was on Gumusut-Kakap FPS.
Sad to hear about it.
Today we talked about it onboard our ship, during the morning briefing, instead of our planned HSE topic, to show the him the respect he deserves.
If any of you want details, you can PM me, i'll send you the details for HSE sharing.

Can share it with me too? Thank you.

Heard the impact is so strong even his safety helmet shattered.

Thanks win44. On the design point of view. Is there any pressure indicator/gauge installed near the door?

i dont see much reason to put a pressure gauge there, unless that room is used for regular activities which involve pressurizing it. (Which i have never heard of)
U could suggest it tho, and use this as justification. but its probably not cost effective, unless justified.

Yeah I agree. Since it's not part of the process so it may not be required. But from now on I think Safety Dept would consider to bring the case into Hazop meeting in the next project for the sake of HSE.

Hope some result will come out from the investigation regarding the instrument air leak as well. Be it on the fittings/tubing/etc
