Yes.

Good luck if you choose working for shell over there. It was rather unexpected when bukom went up in flames a a little over a year ago. Be mindful of the safety orientation courses and note down who to contact in case of an emergency and the mustering point and its secondaries just in case.

No one bro, I was wondering why staff accept to do work at Iraq even the risk is very high.

Iraq oil fields should be relatively safe compared to a friend of mine who used to work in Afghanistan.

He was working in a civil construction company which was sub contracted by the US military base of kabul to do god knows what work. He told me eventhough his scope of work was within the US base itself, it was naturally a prime target for insurgents and every so often, the emergency siren would blare in the middle of the night when the insurgents attacked the bases and all of they staff had to don their flak jackets and retreat to the underground bunkers.

He only worked for 3 terms before his wife and family begged him to stop working there eventhough the money was good.

I consider you just been sarcastic on this. If not, OSP = Offshore Safety Passport/ SmartCard.

And I believe you need to have a sponsor (I dont know how they define the person as a sponsor) and the application is online through your company.
If i'm not mistaken....

I have never worked with petronas directly so i am not familiar with their requirements in regards to the OSP. Hence the question.

NIOSH OGSP is required for onshore facilities. Last time it was called NIOSH but since there is a specific NIOSH for TNB, maybe that's the reason they changed it to NIOSH OGSP. Anyone can take the exam.

OSP is a safety passport for offshore. You can only apply OSP through a "sponsor" - which is also the main contractor for certain particular project. You need to have valid medical report and BOSIET to apply. Anyone that is attached to a project with Petronas can apply through eOSP system which is given to companies that have on-going contracts with them. OSP is not required by some operators/companies like Newfield or EMEPMI but if you have an OSP, it will make things much easier. There are also additional requirements such as LPS, PTW and competency card for example, depending on projects, companies and locations.

Hope this explains.

Oh, so its basically petronas e-filing system for them to validate contractors who basically have BOSIET. Thought it was for onshore work only.
