Clan Mechs are expensive but they don't need any customization except for the weapons at times. IS mechs have a lot of hidden costs (Engine, DHS, Endosteel etc) which will float it up to almost similar price.

Do also decide the mech based on playstyle and what you like. No point you have a nice deck but you don't like to use it anyway.

What do you guys run for your CW decks? I have my Clan deck as the following

Timber wolf 1: Gauss + 2LPL
Timber wolf 2: 4 SRM6 + 4MPL
Stormcrow :10 SPL
Artic Cheetah :6SPL ECM

Here is my CW decks
IS deck:
Stalker 4N: 6 LL
Thunderbolt 5SS: 7 MPL
Thunderbolt 9SE: 3 LPL
Firestarter S: 5 MPL

Clan deck:
Timberwolf C: 4 ERLL
Timberwolf A: 5 ML + 2 UAC5
another 2 are trial mech
planning to get an Artic Cheetah, the remaining 60 ton give me headache...
i prefer stormcrow but 5 ton will be wasted or get a maddog LRM boat

To me the 5 tons doesn't make a huge difference to the deck's power. It's all about skill and having a balanced loadouts to the expected situations in combat. So last time I run my Timbers with dual range builds but now i swapped one to a LRM type so i grabbed the brawler type to give some pain lol.

My IS build will probably involve Thunderbolts and a Firestarter since those are the only heavies I have for IS besides a K2.

last time when piloting timberwolf in CW, i was wonder why only get a few shot then the red light start flashing

My Clan deck is built totally the other way around, it was built all for brawling rather than range since the IS have better heat / burn time with Large Lasers etc

Dealing with the PUGs in CW though is a tricky thing

clan get lots of nerf in the latest patch

At least Thunderbolts got some nerfs too lol.

Anyway, Clan Nerfs aren't too bad for my builds except the Gauss Cooldown. Dayum that takes long now. Switching around my builds to experiment.

At least my K2 Catapult can shine back a bit hehe

Debonair unit leader of Black Tigers [BTgr] here. Been a while i drop by in this thread, I usually leave it to Paladinowp to oversee it but he is away having real-world fun overseas today.

"Black Tigers [BTgr]" we are mainly Malaysian with some outstanding Singaporeans and open to all within Asian timezones. We are focusing on the Inner Sphere House Kurita (Japanese/Scandinavian/Arab Samurais) and the Clan Jade Falcon (Legacy of Pryde, the Novel Trilogy) for Factions Play.

We were formed as a team and started playing together since 2012 during our time in ARMD, a large aussie based unit at that time. Core of our unit are founders with a number of hardcore legendary founders. Actually there was a time long ago about merging 13th legion (5SSP as it was known before) with BTgr but we realised not to go ahead as we were more comfortable with our own smaller group. So yes BTgr people mostly know each other in real life as friends so there is really no drama among us and thus we are relaxed and friendly. Our roster is only about 24, where as 5SSP is about close to 100.

There are other units in the region too like Forgotten 8th Legion (Mycrus ex ARMD), 256th Bear Cavalry (Mr. Bear), Aiel (new SG unit), SI (new MY unit), BES7 (Pholkorr best player). 9SD a house kurita unit had a number of MY but their international player base split and joined 228. So yes there are many units all over the world and knowing their histories and people is half the fun. Mechwarrior Online is a really sociable game.

There is also a Malaysian unit based in London for european region, called ROAR led by my friend in game called "MasCh". They are mainly an Innersphere House Marik unit, god knows why?
