Where do you guys replace G shock battery and what's the usual price? Is it OK to go to normal watch shop or must replace battery by G factory to retain the water resistance?

My g7710 battery died recently after 6 years of daily use.

I used to replace my batt at normal shop and I did notice they won't lub the oring. Since g-fac battery replacement ain't cheap and I needed to change 4 batt for all my 4 g shock so I learn how to diy through YouTube and it is surprisingly easy. The waterproof silicone grease can be bought from shopee to retain the water resistance. So far I have no issue to shower with my gshocks

Has anyone done the optical glue treatment on their own? I was bit skeptical when the person doing the OGT business charged Rm150+ for a simple glue job

I've not seen watches with OGT in real life but based on the photos I've seen, it seems to benefit negative display more, the black on the -ve display will appear darker...
But then again I've only seen photos so I can't say much, I personally won't do it because it's isn't cheap and to me it doesn't give any benefit...

Because the process is very complicated, you may break the solar panel and that alone is about 1xx to replace.
Not to mentioned this is something that you only need to do once and your watch will look great for the next 20 years.

My GX56 and GW9400 is at 3 years in since OGT, still looks like brand new as of today.

if you have the cheaper tough solar models like GX56, GW9400, G9300, GW5600, GW6900, GW9200, GW8900 and etc, then you will notice the difference after a few years wearing it.
Especially negative display models.

Nice i have an ok condition G9300 with fog. I want to do it myself actually cuz I have experienced swapping the glass on my dw6900 and watched youtube tutorials too.

Its no permanent fix , but i guess this will work for the time being. The OGT may have used a specialized glue that is not available in the market perhaps? That's why he charged a lot for that.

OGT is patented so there's no way to know the secret glue they use ...

I have had my GX56BB and the GW9400BJ for quite a few years dy but they still look pretty much new in my eyes and moreover I don't wear them super often, but for now no OGT will do for me

Try compare them to brand new one and you'll see the difference

150 is nothing if you are planning to use the watch for another 5-10 years, just do it.
And make sure it is the guys from G-Tatsugin and not the cheap knockoff fellas.
