School project means secondary school?
Anyway you can maybe do an Attendance System. Try to make it impressive and user friendly. The school might use it for their attendance ticking. Maybe you could include a Timetabling System ... Anyone can build a system but make sure it works well, free from bugs, easy to use and loads more criteria. =)) |

erm... basically any application that involves database access would be great. So you will have all the data/information stored in some database, and you application will provide the interface to access/update/manipulate the information.

QUOTE(CyberTroop @ Feb 7 2006, 05:34 PM) Hmm could u give me an example, maybe it could give me ideas. Im thinking of putting in animations to it. How much animation can visual basic take Well, it depends what you want to do for your project. You must know what you like to do/your interests and your strength. Just focus on which field you are familiar with. You appear to have strong interests at graphics/animation huh? Well, you can either load the animation (eg: .avi) or you want to use the code to make the animation that is up to you. Besides, you may want to use DirectX or OpenGL for that. My humble advise is to do something you like then you will really have the oomph to do it and you will learn alot from the project. There are alot of graphics related samples from the net like the map/atlas, education, games, .....etc. Good luck! P/S: By the way, anti virus is not as tough as you think. It is more on pattern matching and file operations. Unless you want to do some low level stuffs like checking the partition table, boot sector or the interrupts. That is different story |

CyberTroop,
Perhaps you might want to write a program to assist teachers and students. One idea to share with you. You can write a program to store all the questions (pass year or from books). For teachers, they can create their own database and use this as their pool of questions. This will ease the teacher in composing the test paper. For students, they can store the pass year question and share among them (eg: PC in the library). This information will be added more and more and at the end will result a great pool of exercise for those really want to do it. This program is relatively easy. Your teachers might use it at the end of your project. Hope to hear good news from you. Happy Coding |

CyberTroop,
Creating a regular program that store and retrieve the questions is quite common. Perhaps those questions can have extra information and allow for extra analysis. For intance, the subject/topic related to the particular question. Another analysis can be is the prediction of the next test questions based on previous pattern. This can involve some kind of engine to do the analytical work. Happy Coding |

QUOTE(CyberTroop @ Feb 7 2006, 06:50 PM) Thx for the suggestion, but the problem is the program u mentioned is too common. We're creating those kinda programes as our "Latihan" teacher gives us. This is a project for my 1st term this year so i would like to move on from those kinda programes. Btw 80% of my class are doing those things, i wanna make this project different from the others. So imma go stick with a simple game this time. did u learn the basic of programming? |
