Best thing about GW2 warrior, range does damage, and good damage too.

I went dual sword and rifle. For traits I got 10 points in Strength with Berserker Power. 10 points in Arms with Deep Strike and 5 points in defence. Healing I am using mending but might change to Healing Signet later and utilities are signet of might and signet of fury. For elite I put signet of rage.

just finish completing lv1~15 area, using greatsword until now and seldomly use range, am i missing the fun of using warrior?
*
Go learn range, some bosses are hard to fight in melee, range also allows you to take on some mobs higher level than you.

Rifle for 1 vs 1 dmg
Longbow for AOE, crowd control

No problem it's best that you learn all the weapons you can use, so that it's easier when you want to change build, etc

Yeah certain traits benefit both melee and range, while some traits will only benefit certain weapon, so choose wisely, especially if you plan to be swapping weapons a lot. There's a trait line for weapon swapping as well biggrin.gif

Been dying countlessly as a Melee warrior.

Whenever comes to event like escort. They'll be like a wave like 10+ mobs.

If straight rush in and start whacking I'll be down in less than 10 secs lol
*
what weapons are u using, if you take one mobs of your same level, the most u can take is 2-3 depending on the amount of dmg u do, so fight smart and move and dodge

QUOTE(Timemuffin @ Sep 3 2012, 11:59 AM)
eh does Power effect range weapon damage?
I feel like Rifle volley does quite a significant amount of damage.

I feel a bit 'cheap' by not playing melee, but its just so damn fun to bang!bang!bang!

i am just a lowbie level 20, but armor variety seems to don't exist? despite putting on new chest piece, it still looks like the default chest piece.
*
yes it does

there are different skins for armor later

You are not suppose to just stand there and keep hitting and hope you kill them before they kill you.

Think I messed up my healing warriors build for a first timer, lol ...

Didn't do some homework b4 jump into the game ..

I had learned the 3 healing skills now at level 14 =.=ll (The default one using adrenaline, the healing only one and the regen one)

Is it good for me to continue this character or train a new one?
*
Doesn't matter, even if you learn all the skills you will still have extra skill points left and still gain more after level 80.

All three healing skill are useful anyway depending on how you play your warrior, I uses Healing signet since I prefer the regeneration thought the healing signet active heal sucks haha.

but the regeneration is awesome though lul.

Yeah the only thing that can kill is high dmg spike or you take on too many mobs.

I am all signet, so usually if things gets too tough I dodge out and try to regen as much hp and go at it again, sometimes will go down and have to stone a fella to death to rally lol. If need to run, I dodge and signet of rage and zoom away.

Have to buy the grandmaster training manual soon, currently my traits is up to master only lol

aaaah all signet for critical build har?
should try healing shouts. not bad. i think. well.

crafting skills no reset. since u can learn all.
*
Yeah signet critical build, since I usually solo I don't really need support skills. Sometimes will switch around with shouts, banners or knockdown/knockback skill

Not asking for an easy way and certainly going to try out builds on my own but what do you think is the common build or a good build enough for only PvE?

My second char will be a warrior which I have decided since beta so I might start one soon but I do not know the combos or meta games or trait builds of a warrior as much as a guardian so I need sifus here to give some heads up! ;D

Is full melee recommended or better equipped with a ranged weapon always just in case?

Are signet builds common?

If i must choose a melee and range set, what melee is better for just PvE? GS or sword+axe?

Is bleeding still really effective?

Thanks =x
*
Best to have melee with a range weapon for swap. Rifle warrior is good for 1 on 1, can do high burst damage, longbow is crowd control and do burning damage.

Greatsword probably has higher damage, but their skill is pure damage dealing,no condition and no defence, got 1 skill to run away though haha

Sword/Sword is flashy, do good damage, does bleeding, have 1 counter skill

Sword/Axe is pretty much the same as sword/sword, only difference is no more counter, but you get an AOE skill, extremely nice to tag crowded mob for loots biggrin.gif

Hammer and mace I didn't use much, but hammer got interrupt, should do good damage also, mace totally no idea haha

IMO best to do pure damage with bleeding rather than a condition build because bleeding have a limit of 25 stack. Signet is good if you take deep strike trait, which is what I run my warrior on, but it's purely PVE solo stuff though.

My warrior will be pure PvE. And Pure DPS, I'm not going to tank, I have a guardian that can trait to tank better imo so warrior = kill fast or die trying. biggrin.gif

I like sword axe maybe because of AOE, but warrior doesnt have a pulling crowd control skill makes that harder. Sword main hand mainly i fancy the cripple and leap. closing distance as a melee is important imo. But then again, I might go for a range then swap when something come close, so maybe GS is better?
*
To close distance, savage leap, that will bring you quite close to the mob, once in the fight begin. For greatsword the skill you use for closing is either charge or whirlwind, though I don't like whirlwind much since you can overshoot easily.

This is what I do, especially at Orr where there are so many people killing mob that they might all die before you get close. So I savage leap right into the mob and use whirling axe, if mob haven't die, do a flurry. You get XP and loots biggrin.gif

Usually I just use range for champions, since sometimes it's quite hard to fight champion close up, so I go range and use rifle, brutal shot and volley right after give nice burst damage and once your kill shot is ready, brutal shot then kill shot, for awesome damage.

Range for savage leap is 600, so from what I can see is half of guardian. But then you don't really want to get too far ahead, because you would want the timing to be just right where you can do high damage and the rest of the players reach in time to finish the job.

But sometimes for melee you do find that mobs die before you can get close though, that's where a bow will comes in really handy.

Also, may I know where can easily get Jute Scrap ? Wanna smith bronze first XD

tanky build. hmmm So i retrait it everytime before i go dungeon? I guess I need to go tanky a little cause warrior dies much easier without blind and block. I cant stand and fight like my usual guardian. Problem is, I already have a guardian going for tanky build, if warrior go again sian leh lol.

Dolyak runes and soldier runes work the same no? toughness and vitality, dolyak favours toughness a little more I think. Or the other way round.
*
My warrior is not tanky build, I just need to know when to go range and when to go melee and also when to get out of a tough fight and recover. It works fine in dungeon for me.
