Guys please help me.. My CECH2006A 2+ yrs old ps3 cannot read ps3 games anymore cry.gif . Anybody know where i can get Bluray laser parts / repair in Penang? i live in mainland...

This problem starts a few mnths back. sometime it cannot detect ps3 games. initially, i would switch on the ps3 for about 1 hour, eject and reinsert ps3 game disc, it can detect the game and can play fine. sometime i had to put the ps3 vertically for it to detect ps3 game disc. but now it cannot detect bd ps3 games at all no matter what i do. even soft reset. tested with CDs (mp3) and DVDs (movie) and they all works fine. unfortunately i dun have bluray movie to confirm. Googled around and i know there r 2 lasers in ps3 (1 for CD/DVD and 1 for BD). most likely my BD laser died alredy.

Anybody know where can i get this parts? the part model is KES-450A. Or any reputable shop on penang that i can trust and repair my ps3?

thanks...

wow penang charge that expensive ?  sweat.gif

even worst that if u longterm play dvd/cd will spoil your lens . and your lens still not rosak yet just let service will do instead of change whole lens but still have to see the condition.

i never play DVD/CD on my ps3... use only to test functionality... anyway, i read somewhere, many reported that Final Fantasy can cause laser to die. i did spend a lot of time on that game.

i dont think so is game affect it the only reason mostly your blu-ray got alot fingerprints/scratches to suffer your parts , and u use alcohol ? dont trust youtube/internet most probably ur lens dead already doh.gif normally we used to blow the lens and  with use cotton bud wipe .
p/s: you can dont trust me, i just sharing experience here.

thanks for sharing. i don't remember exactly how i clean the lense but i use blower (used to clean dslr) and the lense pen and maybe alcohol with cotton bud. i use my ps3 drive for games only and i take very good care of my games, no scratches. clean fingerprints using cloth for camera lenses. i'm confident enuf it was not due to bad disc. maybe just unlucky sad.gif

If you have experienced open up ur ps3 until the lens then ur halfway there.

Just a matter of obtaining the right sparepart to replace the busted lens.

I've fixed my lens by buying sparepart thru ebay n so far still its working till this very day. *knock on wood*

If u worry about buying, maybe i can be of help?
Just charge you 30 on top of the lens cost. brows.gif
