set it to a little lower speed than your subscribed internet package.
you can test download and upload speed at speedtest.net
take note,the unit in speedtest.net is mbps.

you can do a little more reading at here.

BTW, does anyone of you managed to revert back to stock firmware from OPENWRT?
I just couldn't do it.
It failed at image file validation. It gave error, "Image is not correct" something like that.
I never able to get to this page.

Picture snipped from Klseet site.

I have tried 3 times.
1st, when I was using tplink 1043nd v1.8 with backfire 10.03.1 = failed, i forced from ssh, then I bricked it. Send for warranty claim.

2nd, i got back my router, installed altitude adjustment 12.09 beta, try to revert = failed, i forced from ssh, I bricked it again. Send for warranty claim.

3rd, just got my router back a week ago. They gave me a new one v1.10. Installed altitude adjustment 12.09 latest, revert = failed. This time, I don't dare to forced revert from ssh anymore.
Well, I just want to try to revert for the sake of knowledge.
I have bought a usb-ttl just in case I might brick it again.

Any inputs guys where did i do wrong?
Just for information, I downgraded my stock tplink firmware to german firmware.
Then, i installed OpenWRT.
When I want to revert, I downloaded tplink firmware that only contains the word "up" in the filename.

normally revert back to stock firmware is very simple get the correct stock firmware without "boot" in the file name then goto backup/flash firmware page flash with patiently until the tplink came up or  after long wait if tplink configuration page not come out try to refresh web page do not restart the router. i bricked it two times both were in same fault my advice is must wait until tplink configuration page come out.

hi sifu,

may i know the best mtu value?

1492 or 1500? tongue.gif

Wow I did not know about this. Very interesting. Might give this a try when i go home.

mtu

I tried this yesterday. With both MTU values set in WAN, i can still ping google without any packet loss.
But, by using the command,

ping -f -l 1472 www.google.com --->1472+28 = 1500, this one fails.
ping -f -l 1464 www.google.com --->1464+28 = 1492, success (1465 and above fail).

Why I can still ping www.google.com when I used mtu 1500, but with this command ping -f -l 1472 www.google.com it failed? Aren't they the same thing?
