tried flashing the bios? asus's bioses lately has been pretty good..

not everything is pushing the volts.. ram even though it does well on intel doesn't mean it'll do the same on A64.. just try around.. maybe try a stick of ram and see how it goes.. and flash your bios.. smile.gif

Asus boards use a custom version of the AMI BIOS. And you should flash from DOS instead of using Live Update.

Try playing around more with your settings and read the A64 Overclocking guides at DFI-Street and other forums. wink.gif

220? what was the multiplier you used?

i dont think its stepping. most Venice 3000+ can go to 2.5GHz. gems can go up to 3.0GHz. any idea what chipset ur corsairs r using?

btw, whats "spike lag" anyway?

Mine also reached 2.5Ghz with 1.4vcore, stable prime95 test... i am using ASUS A8N-SLI, should be can overclocked, check ur ram settings, like ddr400, ddr333, if FSB to high lower the ram to ddr333, plus set the hyper transport multiplier to 4, HT mhz should not exceed 1000... plus not everything rely's on voltages, some might fail if voltage to high

Try to set your LDT to 4x or 3x.

I am using value RAM. So I have to set the memory divider to 333. The timing can be tighter to 2.5-3-3-7-1T... forgot to do that... now doing it...

if you want to know how to set your LDT, see at your mobo's manual...
turn to page 2-21 and page 2-22... you'll see it's all about Advanced Menu at your BIOS..Go to 'CPU Configuration' > 'Hyper Transport Frequency'. That's your mobo's LDT setting. Usually it will set Auto.Then if you want to OC, u need to change this method bcoz HT link cannot exceed 2000MHZ, means the calc (LDT*HTT*2). for example mine here, HTT=250, LDT=4 then (250*4*2=2000)

Precautions:
- Have you disabled Cool n Quiet in the BIOS?
- Have you tried the latest nVidia chipset drivers?
- Already lowered your LDT multiplier?

LDT multiplier is also called HT multiplier in certain mobos, you might wanna check that. The default (AUTO) is 5x. With 4x, you can increase the HTT up to 250mhz. Higher than that you probably need 3x.

Hypertransport = HTT x LDT(or HT) multi <= 1000mhz
