Maybe the gearknob didn't engage properly gua. Like r3apers said maybe V12k addressed this problem before, wait for him to come in.

Added on August 30, 2012, 10:03 amSpeaking of the gearknob, remember last time I complain my car no need to press brake to release the stick from P?

I found out that my car does have that mechanism, but if it is not slotted into P properly, the shift lock button will not lock and I can shift out of P without pressing on the brakes doh.gif

Yep, that is what it should be. My gearstick sometimes will lock, sometimes will not. Not a big problem la.
