QUOTE(nordingh @ Feb 18 2014, 12:44 AM) Beijing For Mainland Chinese, Hong Kong and Macau residents: 200 cigarettes and 1 bottle of spirits. For overseas Chinese and foreigners: 400 cigarettes and two bottles of alcoholic beverages (up to 75cl each). so i can bring 40 box of ciggy there? then its good..but im just worry go over there their custom will find trouble only..

QUOTE(nordingh @ Feb 18 2014, 05:12 PM) Yes can hand carry but must within 7kg weight and can put all in one bag. The only worst thing need to do is to remove all laptop and put on the tray for scanning. Malaysian custom normally don't have any issue, but when you arrive, I cannot predict, each country have own rules and regulations. I thought should be easy to buy a new laptop at taiwan. As for 1U cisco switch, I think better check-in. From my trip few years back to canada, my friend who carry the cisco router need to do some explanation in the room. Almost 1 hour waiting for him. But he lucky enough because he use the 'Rasmi' passport not normal passport. The authority in the airport even called to Malaysia office to verified the purpose of carry-in the cisco there. He also have a letter to show to the officer. Better try to get some other alternative, maybe courier the item to taiwan 1st before you go. Thank you, my company will purchase a check-in luggage for me. if i put in the check-in luggage then it shud be ok?

Anyone has any experience buying duty-free things at the KLIA duty-free shop and bringing them over to US?
May I know how it works? Because we will need to check-in our luggage at the check-in counter before we can go into the duty free area. Once I've bought from the shops, how am I going to bring it to US? Through hand carry?

Can anyone help me out with this, previously I have purchase AA return ticket to Bangkok but I now find that the date departure is inconvenience for me so instead of cancelled it I buy a new one way ticket. Is it possible for me to use the previously purchase for my return flight to KL?

Would like to know, is Air Asia now strictly weighing and checking cabin luggage after the MH370 incident?
Because previously, if my hand/cabin luggage was not too big (<22') or heavy looking (about 7 - 8kg), managed to pass through cabin luggage check point without being checked.
Would appreciate any advice from someone who has traveled recently, especially in the last month or so.

Start from May, AA move to KLIA2, so maybe new security protocol will be applied. Better prepare for it.

Would appreciate any advice from someone who has traveled recently, especially in the last month or so. AA got strict for cabin luggage early this year before MH370. Was asked to checked my hand carry which was about 8-9 kg. All bags were weighted at gate for 2 of my flight last month. Random check for heavy looking trolley for some flight, and no check at all for my flight last week. Hard to travel with cabin luggage only nowadays due to the weight limit.

Dear nordingh and JohnJon82, thanks so much for your replies. Looks like I'd better be safe and opt for check-in luggage. Darn, my addons amount to >Rm100 :. No longer budget traveling . Edit: emoticons This post has been edited by SilverSurfer123: Apr 19 2014, 06:07 PM

Hello guys!
This is my first time experiencing transiting in an airport
I'll be heading off to San Francisco and will be transiting at Seoul Incheon Airport.. 9 hours
So my question is if I were to leave the airport to the city..
What are the procedures like? So far I've read its just like you normally leave the airport, finishing your immigration documents and leave.
What about your main/checked in luggage? Do you need to collect it at the conveyor belt or just leave it in the airport.
Thanks!!
