How is that so? People are only complaining because they want to know the price here and now. But WP8 hasn't even launched yet. You can't get a single WP8 phone in the market, so how exactly are they screwing up?

HTC has only announced the price, but it's still not available. So is Samsung and anyone else. I'd agree with you if HTC's phones are already available for sale, but they are not. Such secrecy is still warranted.

If you're comparing with an iPhone 5 (price and availability announced), then save it. WP8 itself isn't even launched yet, until Oct 28 that is.

That's what they did with Lumia 610 and later a Lumia 510.

Because of Lumia 610 (or a variant of it), WP7's sales in China is greater than iOS.

Only one video was found to be fake in the ads. And to be fair, its camera feature is indeed very close to what was shown in the ad, granted I haven't had my hands on one, but based on several hands on tests that reviewers have done, that's the conclusion they came up with.

Fail presentations? If you're looking for Steve Jobs style presentation, then sorry to disappoint. They may have sucky presenters, but I was impressed by the features they announced. So I wouldn't call it a fail.

Bashing others to advertise is failed marketing? I think you should attend (or re-attend) Marketing 101. Samsung did the same. So did Apple with Mac vs PC. There's nothing wrong with that. No deception, no lies.

Which is why I said, IF. People over on Engadget brought up the topic of Lumia 920 vs iPhone 5 where the latter has already announced the general availability and price while the former has announced nothing until yesterday. People complained about Nokia not announcing the price soon enough and that they'd go Apple in that case.

So there you go.

That's why I want to know, what contests are you referring to? The speed challenge that Microsoft started? Or something else?

Bashing in ads is a norm, in case you didn't realize. It's much more effective that way. Remember the potong ads by P1? How many did the ads convince to change? That's why I said, with no lies / deception, it's all fair.

I didn't say it was good, I only said I wouldn't call it a fail. I even agreed that the presenters sucked.
