QUOTE(hydroboy87 @ Nov 27 2012, 03:30 PM) i'd personally wait for the price to drop...[if it does] my lumia 800 is working fine enough for me...will wait for the 7.8 update...and continue using my lumia 800... got to see and read what sort of review and reception lumia 920 will get...only after that i will decide whether to buy it or not... depends on the individual...some want it immediately, some will wait iPhone 4 and 4s is already good enough for ppl...unfortunately there are ppl who are willing to pay so much more for the so little improved iPhone 5.....shocking to see all these Added on November 27, 2012, 8:31 pmplus i just read that the wireless charger is on sale for 399 pound sterling 0____0 Same here. I'm guilty of gadget lust also and I've been upgrading my iPhone every year and from 3Gs to iPhone 45 to iPhone 4s ... now after 4 years, the ecosystem is boring ..... seriously I'm bored with it .... now going for the Lumia 920 instead of the iPhone 5. As for the news you read, the offer was for commitment free EE in UK going for GBP399 with a FREE wireless charger (GBP39.99) thrown in.

QUOTE(kuroneko0509 @ Nov 27 2012, 07:07 PM) where got 399 pound for wireless charger??? quite the same as HK price right?? and unexpectedly, same price as UK with VAT No lah. I think he read it incorrectly. I think the news that he mentioned is the one where you can buy EE Lumia 920 commitment free (but still locked to EE) for £399. The offer comes with a free wireless charger (which cost £39.99). Yeah so I think it is safe to assume that the 920 will cost aroun 2250 in Malaysia.

QUOTE(ticke @ Nov 28 2012, 05:53 AM) that's about the same price quoted in middle east. january? Yeah the prices in the middle east is around RM2099. I'm supposed to get mine today. Nokia hasn't called me yet which is making me nervous. I'll drop by the store this evening and ask for the whereabouts of my Yellow Lumia 920. I paid SAR2499 which is equivalent to RM2040. I thin the Malaysian prices will be in the range of RM2100-2290 which personally I think is reasonable.

QUOTE(ticke @ Nov 28 2012, 08:11 AM) wow, that late? i think the one in UAE got it faster. Dubai esp. and yet nokia says middle east is one of their important market.... with that 2290 as max, i'm thinking twice to jump ship to iphong It was announced on the 12th of November but the actual release date was November 25th. Nokia KSA has said that due to severe shortage of supplies (they really messed up their supply chain processes), it will only arrived on the 26th and that those who pre-ordered will get it once customs releases the shipment (which they expect to be in 2 days) which is today .... not confident at all that I will getting mine before the weekend.

Trying to get used to the new interface. Have to say that the keyboards are a bit tight. The space bar key is too small and I keep hitting the comma key. All post some more thoughts soon

Okay here's a quick short review after 1 day of playing with this phone (bear in mind that most of my comparisons will be based on my previous experience with an iPhone 4s)
1. The People Hub and the synchronisation with FB contacts is just awesome. I like the fact that I can see the FB news feed just by going to the People Hub and by clicking on "Me" I can see who has commented on my status updates and I can reply or "like" any of the post without going to the Facebook app.
2. The screen is awesome and especially under bright sunlight .... unbelievable.
3. The weight is a non-issue.
4. The build is just awesome.
5. The apps are okay. I believe I have most of the important apps that I use (whatsapp is the top of the list). One of my favorite apps has mentioned that they will wait till summer 2013 to see if WP8 ecosystem takes off before deciding to port to WP8, well that's one business they will lose because I can't wait till summer! SO now looking for alternative apps.
Now some of the gripes or some issues I have
1. I have had 2 random reboots so it is happening to me as well. It is reported to be occurring to 20% of the sets sold.
2. The keyboard is too high. Each keyboard key is a rectangle instead of a square which caused the keyboard screen to occupy half the space which defeats the purpose of having a gorgeous 4.5" screen. The keyboard should take only at most 1/3 of the screen space not more than half. Microsoft needs to change the size of each individual key (hint, make it a square instead of a tall rectangle)
3. Keyboard sounds .... maybe it's me but I have no idea how to mute the keyboard sound. The keyboard sound is just a tic toc sound which is lame.
4. IE10 and the back button. Apparently if you run IE10 from the live tile, the back arrow at the bottom of the phone acts as a apps switcher or it kicks you back to the previous app instead of the previous page in IE. If you ran IE from the app list, the back button works as it's suppose to i.e it navigates you back to the previous page which however brings me to my next gripe ...
5. No forward button in IE10 ... really? Sometimes I make a mistake and press the back button ... there is no way to go forward as there are no forward button ... this is a total fail. Some people say that they barely use the forward button ... well I do and I'd like to have the option of enabling it.
6. Battery sucks. It can barely last a day (well it did last till 6PM). But I found that it may be caused by NFC. I have disabled NFC (Tap+Send) because I don't see when I'll be using it and if that is the cause of my battery drain, then good riddance. I'll monitor my battery life tomorrow as I have disabled Tap+Send
7. Found that the flash comes on even when you disable flash. Apparently I have to disable Focus Assist (I think it was mentioned in one of the post here).
Overall, I'm getting used to the Lumia 920. I have to say that the phone is just excellent and if software updates are released to fix some of the gripes I have, this will be a great phone.

kuroneko, thanks for the keyboard tip. I suspect that if I disable the key press the haptic response will also disappear?
As for Focus Assist, yeah but sometimes it does mess with the photo so I'll keep it off and see how it goes.
Still annoyed about the forward button in IE10 though .... I mean they gave you a choice of choosing the address line function (Favorites, New Tabs or Refresh ... they could have added the forward button as well!)

QUOTE(kuroneko0509 @ Nov 30 2012, 09:41 PM) you can mute the keyboard sound, but atm i dun remember where to mute it.... that one isnt flash... flash =/= focus assist light... well, you can turn off that focus assist light.. its up to you Added on December 1, 2012, 2:43 amfound it... go to system -> ringtones+sounds -> untick key press yeah the haptic feel is gone when you switch off the keyboard sounds but then again, I did the same thing with my iPhone as well and I got used to it. The battery level is still going down really fast. It's down to 89% after 1 hour since the last charge which is similar to the iPhone 4s when you switch on the 3G (or in this case HSPA+). Apparently I cannot set to manual sync for my Microsoft account so I've set it to only retrieve the email daily (since that is not my main email account anyway). Probably just need to do a couple or several full cycle battery conditioning before the battery performs optimally. Now testing the Dolby settings with my Beats Solo HD ... the sound is great ... damn this is an awesome phone.

QUOTE(silencer @ Dec 1 2012, 09:58 PM) Is there a way we can use local credit card if we change the Region to US as there is only very limited application when I'm using Malaysia in region selection. Furthermore, my Xbox 360 Region is set to US too. I very much doubt it. I bought one app yesterday from the Malaysian store. It is cheaper because 2.99USD is RM9 so it's using a RM3=USD1 conversion and if I were to use it in the US store (if I can), the credit card company would have charge a higher rate (though it's probably going to be RM9.30)

The battery life is getting better but still only last 1/2 a day at the moment. I unplugged the 920 at 6AM this morning and by 2:30 PM (8.5 hours) of usage, the battery is critical oledi.
However, I would rate that my usage today is quite heavy. No 3G used but was using the phone at least 4 hours with surfing, Facebooking, setting up my bank account manager (new app that I bought) so all in all I am quite happy with the battery performance. I expect it to last at least until the end of the day (say 8:30 PM) so about 14 hours on a moderate to light usage.
The problem is, it's so fun to play with at the moment so the screen is always on .... susah la ini macam heh heh heh.

QUOTE(killdavid @ Dec 3 2012, 06:58 AM) if we set country to Singapore then when we purchase apps we will be charged SDG + bank commision ? Can we make a purchase in a different country's store using our Malaysian credit card in the first place? Won't the store asks for a US billing address (for the credit card) etc etc? If we don't have to use country specific credit card, then it would be great.

QUOTE(killdavid @ Dec 4 2012, 06:22 AM) No one answered this question yet. For those of you that know please help. For phones set to region Malaysia, go we get Nokia Music services ? I have a suspicion that you will be able to get Nokia Music BUT you won't get the Mix Radio option (that's the one where you get unlimited music options). I have Nokia Music but since my Sim (yes they check now using your Sim) is a Saudi Sim, I only get Music that's in my Lumia.

QUOTE(Fazri9900 @ Dec 5 2012, 09:24 AM) hye guys..i know that some of you already use windows phone 8 like nokia lumia 920.. just wta..is it the whatsapp notification still laggy like windows phone 7.5? It's not as good as my experience with the iPhone 4s. Sometimes I can see the notification coming in and I click on the notification, it brings me to the main chat window but the message is not there. I would have to exit and open the application and go to the Chat Lists and once I see that the message appears in the chat list, open it and then it will be there. If you were receiving new chats while inside the main chat window, it works fine.
