QUOTE(DavidWKW @ Aug 23 2012, 10:51 PM) HahaXD I plan to buy Lumia 800 at first as well. I have read quite a few articles and posts about Lumia 800 and I believe it's quite good based on the low price. battery life. something that is unbearable.Pros: GPS offline Decent camera Nice design People Hub would be great if you like to socialize Cons: It does not support ussd code (eg. *100#) Rumours about bad battery life Although camera is good, you might need to adjust the settings to get the best effect No front camera All the sifus, feel free to add and comment Not buying it because I'm waiting for Windows 8 |

That being said, third party browsers are available on the marketplace with some additional perks on them, I say they're pretty good too with gestures enabled browsing. If you wish to view complicated/heavy/java oriented website, better get other phone or a tablet. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Oct 30 2012, 02:40 PM) Can't help it. WP8 is the first time I'm getting all hyped up about phones well since the old symbian days. Ios never impressed me much. Android always had some problems and evolved so quickly with manufacturers keep coming out with countless number of phones in a matter of months. Let's see what WP8 can do. Especially Nokia. Hardware wise their unbeatable. |

Let's just see if WP8's IE has any nice features to offer, perhaps gestures browsing. What I like about the IE on my phone is the speed and naw, I ain't talking about the browsing speed but rather the launch speed of IE, though this IE behave jerky when browsing an "overlay" popup. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I love how it is in Ipod touch/iOS..easy to click. From a lumia 800 and 900 users windows phone 8 nothing much to look forward to. The tiles are good idea but if you have too much apps listing them will be endless scrolling. They have should do in folders method as optional. 1 tile open in a sub folder.

QUOTE(luckyhillkop @ Oct 30 2012, 12:29 PM) yup same like those song cds which won't let ppl make copies of it. By right though, we if we bought it, it's up to us what to do with it as long as we don't sell it. But this is a different matter altogether. This is where I think you may be wrong. Your purchase is for your own consumption. Similarly, in the past where we bought a music CD, you can give it to anyone you like once you are bored of it. Duplicating is what they are trying to avoid. When in soft copy, people can share with anyone they want. When you share with 1 person, that is 1 less royalty payment to the artist and the recording label. Imagine it's like network marketing. You share with 2, then each of them share with 2 and etc. There will be too many people having it without paying for it. It's not so much about you selling it. However, humans being humans, they do it anyway. But technically, it is not your right from a legal point of view as far as I understand it.another thing that catches my attention is smart dialing is still missing. Anyway, I am looking forward to the release of Lumia 920. If Nokia loses their share of the market, then it is really their own doing. What irks me still though is I hope they rectify the notifications part. Rather than show 1 or 2 or 3 on the live tiles, I would hope that it would pop up on screen to show a preview of the message. At least I know there is one instead of having to go into the live tile to see if there is any notification at all. Or have this been rectified? This is one strong point for me to move away from iOS. |

What if I have 2 phones and i want the same song in both of MY phone? In the case of a CD, what if I want to listen to it at home or while driving to work but don't want the hassle to bring it everywhere with me? |

I am pretty sure they have statistics of those who does that and at the same time share with others as well. But they would not know what your intentions are, hence they implement a control feature on it. It doesn't prevent people from doing so still, but they won't make it easy either. It's no different to P2P softwares. Excuses such as file sharing of legal content is accurate. But when you look at torrent sites, we all know what content they are.I do see your point of view but you would also agree that in current age and times, it is common to share it with others besides one self. Same song? If it's soft copy, you could sync with both your phones via your PC I guess. CD? That could be tricky. But I am imagining the days where we didn't have CD burning software or high tech PC to copy. I did that many moons ago, which is to transfer the CD from house to car. Wow, shows how old I am But that is what copyright is about. |
