QUOTE(Goatboy @ Dec 22 2012, 03:33 PM) I turned it off. Pressed and held the vol.down, power and camera button and released the power button when it vibrated. Added on December 22, 2012, 8:57 pmI turned it off. Pressed and held the vol.down, power and camera button and released the power button when it vibrated. Hmmm that sounds about right. Maybe you should also try via the Settings panel (Settings > About > Reset your Phone) but I don't see why that should make a difference because the method you did is the same thing. If this still occurs, I'd recommend brining it to the Nokia Store and have them take a look at it.

QUOTE(Prevail @ Dec 23 2012, 01:53 PM) Yes klcc Added on December 23, 2012, 6:55 pmfyi, Nokia lumia 920 in Malaysia not LTE ready Can you clarify that? Is it the LTE is not working for Lumia 920 or there is no LTE service in Malaysia since the major service provider (Digi/Celcom/Maxis) will only be LTE ready in 2013?

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 23 2012, 02:33 PM) Why isn't VPN feature supported jn WP8? Good question string. I find that comical that a major OS could exclude such important feature. How can you be a business oriented phone/OS if you do not have this feature? I use it for my Witopia by the way so at the moment I can't listen to my BBC 5 live sports commentary on my Lumia .... stupid.

Supposedly MS is working on an update (Apollo Plus) that was to come with VPN but as we all know Portico didn't come with VPN .... MS needs to work faster on this thing. I don't see the sense of urgency on MS part. I mean, they are a 3rd ranked player in this Mobile OS and they need to be as fast as possible in making sure they cover all the bases.

I have had a 5 restarts ever since I bought the phone about a month ago. I have Skype as well and use it extensively but I noticed as well that 3 of the restart happened when I was using Facebook. I haven't had any restarts for the last 2 weeks and that was probably due to all the updates (app updates and Nokia specific updates) that I've installed.

Yeah, All 920 (International or US version) are Quadband and LTE ready. 920's LTE version is compatible to most market unlike the iPhone 5 which is only compatible to US market.

QUOTE(SheeKenSays @ Dec 24 2012, 10:05 AM) I think it boils down to whether you have a 'Thing' for the camera & wireless charging... Everything else is just a slight upgrade, screen/battery sizes, performance-wise... All comes down to you~~ Is the battery in the 820 removable?

QUOTE(LightningZERO @ Dec 25 2012, 07:23 AM) so I can only check through the windows website is it? I thought can check through the store app, easier that way The is no setting in the Store app to see your purchased history (unlike iOS), maybe they will implement this in future updates of the software (like iOS as well)

QUOTE(LightningZERO @ Dec 25 2012, 07:38 AM) The last phone I have was Nokia n8 running Symbian. It allows me to view my purchased apps and I thought it was quite a basic function. Here's hoping for updates. I also dislike the lack of forward function in IE Yes, I do not like the lack of forward and back function in IE because if you press the capacitive back function, you may back out entirely (or terlebih press) and you have no options other than going back to your favorites or typing the address. They need to fix that soon.

When you say it gets blocked from running in the background, what do you mean? It does not get updated etc?

Same thing if you buy it from the computer via windowsphone website. It will send a link to your registered email, open it from your device, click on the link, and it will open the store app directly to the app page that you bought. Click on buy and it will inform that you have already purchased the app and if you would like to reinstall.

Curiosity killed the cat. Downloaded and installed Navifirm + 1.7 and Nokia Care Suite. After jumping hoops in installing Visual C ++ 2010 and the Visual C ++ 2005, managed to install the Care Suite.
The program says that my Lumia 920 is Out of Date. Navifirm says the new firmware is ready but it's 1.1 GB
Is this Portico or is this Nokia's firmware only (PR1.1?)

QUOTE(lkhoe @ Dec 27 2012, 09:27 AM) Portico. What is exact version of nokia care u r using? Must be latest version. Has 4545 at the end. The product support tool Is version 5.0 2012 45.4.5 which I think is the latest version. I don't know if I want to update via Nokia care because it will wipe clean the phone right?

Unless u did backup first then yr sms, email setting will still be available once u log in to your live id. Yeah, but it will wiped my whatsapp chats .... not something I want to do at the moment.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 27 2012, 06:21 PM) http://www.wpcentral.com/nokia-updates-acc..._medium=twitter» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « More reason to get a wireless charging plate? Does the update comes separately or part of Portico, and does it work only specifically with Nokia-branded wireless charger plate or any Wireless Qi standard charger plate? I think this works with the Wireless stand (DT-901) and not the Plate (DT-900). I've downloaded the new accessories update and I don't see any changes when I charge it on the plate.
